Anyone else raising little Trekkies?

Am a proud daddy of my little admiral. He even sings the theme tunes more than nursery rhymes, and has demonstrated trek fan tendencies most of his 4 years. He carried a starships collection galaxy class in his pram and when we are out and about, and often slept next to a voyager that he plays with endlessly. He's inherited my micromachines and his mother's Tos phaser.

He's also battered a defiant into submission. So am waiting (having paid them for it when it was in stock...over a year ago, grumble) fora replacement for him to keep with his collection that we keep for best.

Seriously. He has nicknames for YouTube battle videos (dirty voyager is year of he'll) and the enterprise b has led to all wine being called 'naughty juice' as well as it being the nickname for the excelsior refit in general, because of the launch visuals.

He also occasionally cheers on in star trek online.

My wife wanted to name our daughter "Guinan", but I just couldn't pull the trigger.

I think that's a good thing. If my parents would have named me after a show-character I don't think I could ever be happy with it.

Odo is a real german name from East Frisia (just like ihno, my nick). You can call your kid "Odo" and always pretend you didn't mean the guy with the odd face.

Well, our son's middle name is Archer...

:techman:

Was there no better starfleet captain, how coul.... erm... I love Jonathan Archer. :D

Ella is now loudly "singing" the Imperial March and the Force Theme, just like the a capella videos from Pentatonix, Jimmy Fallon and Peter Hollens.

I decided to spare my son the astigmatism.

Some tiny blond girl fluttering her 17 year old eyelashes lured him in any way.

Did her name happen to be Janice? Or, Rand? Or even Yeoman?
My son found a Brunette, and that was the name of that tune! Still, I have the Legos®.

Been calling her "psycho" so long, I can't remember her name... Emily!!!

She tried to give my kid an eating disorder.

No good!
The Brunette gave my kid a skewed view of just exactly how lam e his own family is...

Sons...they leave you for their Women! :(

So far, my son hasn't shown much interest in Trek. He's six and loves Star Wars. We started him off with the OT and he's also seen TPM and AoTC, but not RotS because of the higher rating. He has lots of Star Wars legos.

My son is 13, and he loves the Marvel universe, and to a lesser extent Star Wars, but try as I might, I just can't get him into any version of Star Trek.
My daughter is 7, and she'll watch Trek with me, but she prefers TOS, which is interesting. Of course she absolutely loves Captain America and Thor.

I've tried with my nieces. It's not worked so far. Anime, on the other hand... I can still lure them to the Trek side, darn it!

There's a star trek manga. It's not great mind you. Try gateway via sci fi anime....Knights of Sidonia if they are teens or older is space opera of a kind.

My youngest nephew is named Kai, but is in no way a Bajoran religious leader...I'm fairly sure it's a coincidence (my brother is definitely not a Trek fan).

They're almost 10 and almost 7. I tried animated Trek with them and they sat through Star Trek IV with me. But their favorite anime right now is Azumanga Daioh.

Maybe they would like Space Battleship Yamato?

Two days ago we're watching Star Wars music on YouTube, and Ella has me pretending to be Chewbacca. When Chewie gets overlooked she gets an indignant look and says, "Why Chewie not get a medal?" Then she gives me a sympathetic look and kisses me. "I give you a hard kiss, Chewbacca, it's okay."

I love that she gets it and she's only 3.
