Anyone else missing LOST?

No.

And I loved LOST.

Honestly the ending kind of took the sails and deflated the whole thing somehow. It's still a really well made series, one of the better ones in recent memory. So much of the show just feels meaningless though.

I guess I can kind of see that.

The Flash-Sideways timeline did kind of make all of the deaths seem a lot less tragic, but is that necessarily a bad thing? These characters were lost in every sense of the word and in the end, it wasn't that they had to find themselves, but find each other. I really liked that sentiment, but I'm a major sap.

^Me, too. I actually liked the ending. I think it suited the whole tone of the show. They were all redeemed in the end--even Ben--by coming together, one way or another.

I LOVED LOST. I adored it. I miss the depth of the characters and the emotional pull, as well as all the little details to keep track off and puzzles to solve. I miss being upset at the end of an episode, because I just had to see more. That doesn't happen very often, at least not with SciFi/Fantasy shows--not for me, anyway. I do miss it, but I also was very moved by the ending; it left me all teary-eyed.

I'm hoping that Walking Dead can fill some of that very tall order, but I think it maybe somewhat limited by its premise. But we shall see.

S1-5 LOST was a perfect show to me and I absolutely loved it. But the final season, while not terrible, just really killed my love for the show. The flash-sideways were just a complete waste of precious time. It killed any interest I had in re-watching the show for several years. A real disappointment.

Not especially. I'll definitely be rewatching the series again in the near future, but I don't have an particular need to have new material. I'd much rather go back through the series and analyze what's there than see it prolonged any further.

Kinder of. Knowing next month there will be no new LOST is a little disappointing, but just recently I rewatched season 6 again, and plan on watch it again before I go away and have to take the DVD back to the library.

What I was trying to say in my original post was that I wasn't wanting more LOST i.e. a seventh season--in my opinion it ended when it should have considering how it sorta fell apart at the end-- but it was more about missing a show that was appointment viewing and engaging the way LOST was--the only other shows like that this decade for me were BSG, Supernatural, season 1 Heroes, Lost, ENT S3/4.

I still watch some tv shows but I can't say I'm totally over the moon for them or that they satisfy completely. LOST was one show in its heyday that did completely satisfy when it was on a roll. I just miss having a show that generates that level of interest--even the shows I watch now like The Vampire Diaries or FRINGE don't do that--I'm invested in them enough to watch them but not nearly as riveting. When Lost was on I wouldn't answer the phone and I didn't want to be bothered while I was watching it. It was a show where I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next. There just isn't a water-cooler show anymore these days where you are talking about what happened last night.

I'm a fan of the show. I don't miss it much, since it's still so fresh in my mind. It will probably be a while since I rewatch the series.

I liked that writers were able to conclude the show on their on terms. Most Sci Fi shows these days end up getting cancelled without giving viewers any kind of conclusion, like Caprica and SGU.

I don't miss Lost for basically the same reason I don't miss BSG.

I loved both shows early on, both the settings and the characters, but over time I started to become more and more annoyed by the characters. I don't have the feeling that I'd like to watch these characters in new adventures, in contrast to the DS9 relaunch for example.

And despite both shows having story lines that often and increasingly didn't make much sense, I thought the finales were somewhat satisfactory as endings.

Also, Lost is not the type of show where you think one evening: Yeah, I'll pop in a DVD and watch an episode. It's a bit too involved for that.

I wouldn't say that.

All the season finales make great mini movies.

Exodus, Live Together Die Alone, Through the Looking Glass, There's No Place Like Home, The Incident, The End. Just typing those titles out makes me want to get out the dvds. If there was one thing LOST excelled at, it was making awesome finales.

"It's not the type of show where I think one evening ...", is what I wanted to say, really (but didn't, for some reason).

I miss the show, flawed as it was after Season 1 up through the ending. Still one of my favorite shows, but I'm not ready to rewatch it quite yet.

I absolutely miss LOST, but I don't want more of it. I just wish I could have it wiped from my memory so I could watch it again and be surprised! The series blew my mind, and I think the finale is the best of any show I've ever seen. I just wish I could watch it again with virgin eyes.

I think what I miss the most, though, is shows like LOST. Shows with fantastic characters and moving storylines and crazy plot twists that keep me coming back for more. There is absolutely nothing on TV right now that even comes close to capturing my attention like LOST did.

Ok, I probably should've said, "it's not the type of show where I think one evening ..."

Most of the episodes in the first season didn't have cliffhangers, so many episodes can be considered standalone. It wasn't until the later seasons that the writers got so crazy with the cliffhangers.

I guess it depends on whether you are one of those people that must rereard a book the whole way through to get the full experience, or if you can reread and enjoy certain chapters on their own.

Good God, no. Unfortunately we'll be suffering from stuff written in the misapprehension that Lost was really good writing. When what it was, was shameless in doing anything, no matter how senseless for a surprise, as a diversion while they soaped everything up.

It's not that I don't enjoy watching an occasional episode here or there, or read parts of a book again.

I just don't feel any inclination of watching any episode of Lost again. As I said, I phrased that wrongly as a generalization. It's how I feel about that show.

No, don't miss it. And it ruined a bunch of other shows I might watch, I don't want to invest time in series that are going to fall over at the last hurdle. This and Ashes to Ashes. Bah.

Like others have already said, I had three years to prepare for the ending of the series and the conclusion was very satisfying (but not without its faults). I miss the thrill of the new episode and the anguish waiting for a new episode (and answers), but I find myself not missing the show itself. I haven't gotten the chance to buy the complete series set yet, but it's on my wish list.

Well, this year both Fringe and The Walking Dead have really stepped up to the plate in terms of must-see viewing (though the former had already done so by midway through Lost's final season), so that void is more or less filled for now.

And while I do miss the show in some ways, I'm also glad it didn't get stretched-out indefinitely. It had a good run, and was able to wrap up its story pretty well.
