Anyone else feel odd?

And as a producer I think he's second to none; I just don't think he's a very good director. I think he probably knows this which is why he doesn't direct a lot on his shows and the only reason he directed this film is because he wanted to set up the universe "his" way. I'd be willing to bet he brings someone else in for the next one.

Despite my mixed feelings on the movie I really would like to see this cast spun-off onto a TV show as long as they create a continuity all their own. They have a chance to create a completely different looking Star Trek than what we are used to with a very appealing cast. I don't know if they can lock up the actors for it though.

I feel very odd.

I only got back from the movie theatre an hour ago and my brain is still digesting it. I'm not used to seeing a good Star Trek movie.

My brain is still mulling it over.

:techman:

I've been checking TrekMovie.com multiple times each day for years. But I guess I was checking TrekWeb.com and TrekToday.com almost as much before the new movie was even announced. But, yeah, it was something big to look forward to. There's nothing in the entertainment world as big to me as Star Trek, so now, having it pass does feel strange. I am glad they've already announced plans for a Star Trek XII and I'm looking forward to following XI's success. I'm also looking forward to seeing a resurgence in Trek fandom and merchandising from magazines to toys to books. If the movie is big, I want it to sink through and boost all things Trek.

Like the 2008 election (for me) the results were awesome and following the news about the candidate (or movie) is fun well after its debut.

I do relate because I felt that way after seeing Revenge of the Sith when there was no possibility of another SW film.. and I was also disappointed in that one (though not the other two prequels).

However after seeing this Trek I was on a complete high. I think being pretty much spoiler free and having very low expectations going in helped.. after all my true love has always been the series and the films have just been a bonus. All I could think about was.. seeing it again! Buying Countdown! Getting some action figures! Seeing it again!! Chewing over ever last little bit of it! THE DVD!!! I woke up this morning very very excited about Trek, LOL. And happy, super happy because I felt none of this after Nemesis, hardly even thought about it post the film.
