Anyone doing CrossFit?

A guy I work with started a gym and many of my co-workers have signed up. A few are seeing amazing results so CrossFit comes up at least a few times a day. Interesting enough the guy who started it never initiates conversation about his gym - he doesn't need to.

I'm going to check it out since it seems like a good workout for my circuit days. Is anyone else doing this? If so, are you one of the hardcore types going every day or is it now and then?

I've not heard of it, what's it's premise?

I've started some interval training both on the bike and with weights and have noticed a big improvement. It's funny, but it really mimics hockey - go hard for 1-2 minutes and rest for 1, then back at it.

From what I understand it's 30 minutes of killer cardio and weight circuits. The focus is on exercises that improve functional fitness in all fitness areas so there's a lot of cross-training involved. There's also a diet component that follows the paleolithic diet.

That was the type of workout I was going to do this afternoon (Spinervals) but opted for a nap instead. :shifty:

CrossFit is a different workout each day.

They try to focus on general fitness, while teaching some basic skills like proper Olympic lifts and and keeping the cardio short but intense.

I've been on their message board for years. The WODs (workout of the day) are sometimes good, sometimes too specific for me.

They do a lot of bloody chin ups though. Seems like every second workout has insane numbers of chin ups.
