I guess he was a Kelvin crew member (according to the credits), but I was so wrapped up in the beginning that I didn't think of looking for him until later. Anyone catch him?

He was in the beginning. I believe he's the one that says "We have a visual."

Cool, thanks. I love his "Last Lecture" and I was looking forward to see him with a touch of sadness in the movie. Almost fitting that the ship he was on went out in a blaze of glory.
