Anybody watch "Leverage" (US show)?

I was hoping it would be entertaining, but didn't think it would fly.

After watching the premiere, it looks like it has potential. Well, not for "a great tv series" but "an entertaining tv series."

There was a nice ST shout out:

Christian Kane (from "Angel") plays the muscle had to masquerade as an I.T. guy for a bit. When it's commented that he's "big" (nasty minds! as in muscular arms), he said it was so he could be a Klingon at all the conventions he goes to.

The computer hacker (listening in) promptly says something like, "Oh no, you did not just say that." So, I'm supposing his character IS the ST fan.

It was a nice touch.

I hadn't heard about it but I might check it out. I see Timothy Hutton is in it too.

The second episode is on tonight.

I thought it was ok, not great, but worth checking out again.

Visually, the show looked amazing. They made Chicago look great, and Gina Bellman from Coupling is easy on the eyes.

In addition to the Star Trek ref there was a great IT Crowd head tip in that scene too. When the asst calls about her computer freezing, the first thing they ask her is, "Did you try turning it off and on again?" Hi-Larious.

We liked it. Wasn't stop the presses great, but it was much better than many other things currently on TV. We're going to watch the second episode tonight.

Good casting, some witty lines. We'll see where it goes from tonight.

Tonight's was good too. I'll keep watching. Can't decide if the blonde is hot or not. I also expect the show to grow on me from good to great. Hope it pans out.

Me & my friends liked it. I agree with everyone about the casting. Great job. They seemed to gel rather easily. The writing is good too. It's not great, but it has the potential to be quite entertaining.

Not bad tonight. I like the quirkly vibe they're going for, but I don't think they are going far enough. They should either dial it back or punch it up a bit.

One the things I enjoyed about the pilot was that it wasn't filmed in NY or LA (the bonus was it was Chicago). Here in the 2nd episode they're back in LA. I'm not sure what they'll do in future episodes, but here's hoping they don't stick to closely to LA.

Oh, and they played a Joshua Radin song at the end. I love his music, so that put a smile on my face!

i watched the premiere and tuesday's episode and loved them both. i agree that the casting is spot on and they all have great chemistry together from the get go, which is quite an accomplishment. i think the "buddy" aspect of the show will keep me coming back.

however, the villains and action sequences are pretty lame - think Hercules and Xena but probably a tad worse unfortunately. but everything else seemed fresh and fun. if they take the villains more seriously and give them brains, this could get really awesome.

i heard the premiere got 5 mil, so hopefully the show does well and sticks around.

I like it the same reasons I love The Closer, Psych and Burn Notice. Lighthearted, full of humor and fun but can strike a serious balance when needed. And a dynamite cast.

I really like this show, so I'm hoping that it gets it's long distance legs... The ingredients are there, it just needs time to find the exact right mix. Here's to hoping.

^ I think you have it right. It has the ingredients to be a great show, just not there right now. I enjoyed the first two episodes, there was just something missing for me to really enjoy it, but can't quite say what.

Indeed... I think it just needs a little more time in the oven so to speak.
