Anybody try the "Bodybugg"?

I recently joined 24-hour-fitness (only really decent gym near me). They are pushing this thing called the Bodybugg... basically it's supposed to be an advanced computer you keep strapped to your arm that tells you how many colories, to a high degree of accuracy, you burn during the day. You can even plug it into your computer and see your calorie burn distribution over time, compare it to your caloric intake to see your surplus or deficit, etc.

It sounds pretty cool, but I'm not paying 2 or 300 bucks for it (I'm hoping to get it from the new member rewards program). But, I'd like to know if any of you have tried it. Any reviews, thoughts, suggestions, or warnings?

Thanks.

I must say I'm not really sure what the point of this would be. If you want to lose weight, eat fewer calories. If you want to gain weight, eat more calories. If you're happy with your weight, keep doing what you're doing.

There are charts and calculators online for free that give you an estimate of how many calories you burn doing a particular activity. From sleeping to hardcore cardio work and everything in between.
