I know, I know... I'm supposed to be finding funny vids to get into the mood for the next two Xena eps...
BUT!!!!!
When one is presented with a Xena movie that combines her with LORD OF THE RINGS, I cannot ignore it!
Unfortunately, I do not speak/read French.
Fortunately google was kind enough to translate for me. What follows is the translation of the "cue cards" during the movie.
This world had made her (Gabrielle) a warrior

I hesitatedly admitted my new fascination with X:WP last fall on a scifi board I've frequented for the last 11 YEARS and was surprised to find that most of them were long term fans. The subject just never came up before I brought it up.
I have to admit, that trying to explain why one watches Xena feels like listening to some guy claim he reads playboy for the articles. If one just looked at how the ladies are often dressed in season 6...

The head priest raises a sword to cut the rope holding the pallet onto the altar. Once sliced it will topple off the cliff and drop its precious cargo onto the rocks far below on the seashore. But before he can do the deed, a chakram comes spinning from "nowhere" and breaks the sword at its hilt, rendering it USELESS!
The priest looks up, startled at this interruption, and sees a fearsome sight. Oops! Looks like disaster just walked into town!

Zarat: "You're interrupting a religious ceremony!"
She waves her hand before her forehead in sarcastic obeisance as she continues to walk towards him.

Uhhh, NOT if Xena has anything to say about it! She stops fighting long enough to whip the helmet of Hermes from the bag and then RUNS for the edge of the cliff. She dives of it like she's trying to follow Gabrielle into the depths of Hell in "Fallen Angel".

I'll say that I haven't seen much of Xena, but I did like what I saw.
I liked Hercules: The Legendary Journeys better, however. It's a shame that that show hasn't been released on DVD yet.

Amazon has all 6 seasons for sale on dvd. I picked up season 4 just for the crossovers.
The thread has been running under the radar for the last 9 months, Admiral, just to give me a reason to rewatch the show at a more leisurely rate after my marathon introduction last September.
Ah, okay. All six seasons were released prior to 2005 and then discontinued. Afterwards, Seasons 1 and 2 were re-released - that's what I was thinking of. Sorry.

Feragus: (Looking at his own reflection in a silver plate) "Oh, yeah, you're the biggest, baddest warlord this side of Athens! Yeah-ha-hah-h-h-h-h!" [Laughs]
Frankus: (Enter the spy from the cliffs) "Father! News from the zealot camp!"
Feragus:"What?! Them numbskulls still think their god's gonna stop me from raiding them whenever I like?! Hah! Waste of a perfectly good virgin."
Frankus:"Not this time, Pop. A woman swooped in... "
Feragus starts to graze over the banquet table before him, as his son continues.
Guard's Voice: "Ow!"
