Xenan: (He's smiling.) "This way. It's not far, now."

)Joxer didn't marry a Gabby look-a-like, since the only ancient doppleganger was Hope, and she wouldn't marry JOXER! (I don't count the three naked Gabrielles, since I suspect Aphrodite did away with them once she regained her power.
)As for the descendants "going for Xena / going for Joxer"... while it may be true that in the absence of Gabrielle, the two found a life WITH each other, its also true that once Gabby came onto the scene... Xena had eyes for no-one but her.

An aside.
On the dvd interviews, we hear the writer (Joel Metzger) discuss how Rob Tapert had 10 minutes of footage from season 4's "Past Imperfect" that was never used, and how this "Footage/Story" was given to the writer with orders to weave it into this new script. The writer was pretty happy with the results, as am I.
(He's the season 6 Amazon man, having penned both "Dangerous Prey", and "Path of Vengeance)".
ACT II
Xena: Warrior Midwife, kneels before her newest patient. I feel compelled to remind everyone that there is no such thing as a female centaur, to make Xena's next statement more understandable.

The WP was hoping to avoid admitting yet another sin of commision, but alas... the time has come to talk of many things.
Xena: "When I met his father, Borias, he was a rising warlord...and me? I was just ambitious."
[Flashback to a scene we've never seen before. Borias has exited his yurt and is looking out over his camp, at men wrestling/challenging each other. Evil Xena has arrived, she's limping along on her cane, until she sees him. She throws the cane aside and walks up behind him to begin her seduction]
E-Xena: (She puts her arms around him) "It gets lonely at the top."

E-Xena: "Wait just a minute."
(She hops up and walks towards the other side of the yurt, grabbing a blanket enroute to the entrance)
Borias: "What are you doing?"
(She gets him hotted up, then drops him cold? She really IS EVIL Xena!)
E-Xena: "I'll be back in a minute."
The boy is looking into the yurt from the right side of the "curtained door", while E-X walks out the left side and envelopes him in the blanket. She picks him up and struggles to carry him 20 feet from the entrance, limping as she goes.
E-Xena: "Word of advice for ya, kid... never step between two people and their passion."
[Present: Xena is walking/talking with Gabrielle, revealing yet another shameful chapter of her sordid history]
Xena: "I shamed his mother and stole his father, Gabrielle. I can't let him lose his daughter as well."
Scene changes... our travelers have returned to the "secret" village where the centaurs were hiding from lord Belach. No-one has been left alive.
Ephiny: (Looking at the small village) "It's completely devastated."
Gabrielle: "Where are they?"
As they walk through the small collection of buildings, they come upon a large dirt walled pit. It is filled with dead centaurs.

Xenan: (His gorge is rising!) "They're gone... every last one. All dead! Belach will pay for this!"
Gabrielle: (She tries to restrain the centaur) "Xenan, you can't risk yourself! Not now!"
Xenan: "Out of my way!
Nika: (She too tries to restrain her husband) "Whatever my father has done, you have to stay alive for your son... for me."
Xenan: "THEN WHO will see JUSTICE DONE?"

Xena: (Coldly, and yet with the air of resignation) "I will."

[Fight, Xena quickly disarms Belach and then takes on his "palace" guard before dispatching themm too. She ends up cutting some curtain tieback rope to bind his hands, then has ANOTHER contingent arrive to try and save the day. Silly men. She then points Belach out the 2nd story window.]
Xena: (I actually don't mind when "our" Xena lets a LITTLE of the "evil" Xena come out and play.) "Come here. After you."
(She pushes him OUT the window, and he falls down onto the saddle of the horse standing below. That pommel horn looked pretty damned uncomfrtable on the way down... but I think we can rest assured... he missed it!)
Belach: [Screams as he falls]
(Xena somersaulted out the window and landed on her own horse, then grabbed her whip and used it to wrap around the reins running from the bridle of Belach's horse.)
Xena: "Aa-a-a-a-a-ah! Come on! Yah-h-h-h!"
Guards: "To the horses!" "Come on!" "Yah!" "Yah-h-h-h-h!"

Man: "Lord Belach! She went through there. We can pick up her trail."

Meanwhile... the pregnant lady who's been experiencing labor pains for quite some time, is walking along with Gabrielle and Xenan, when the labor pains get significantly worse.
Nika: (Her hand is resting on her husband's back when she suddenly stops and bends over in pain.) "Oh! I-I-I have to stop!"
Ephiny: (The dead really DO know everything, don't they!) "Gabrielle, it is time."
Gabrielle: (She looks about the wide open field) "We have to get her to shelter. Down there."
We see a ramshackled hut across the field, and the quartet make their way to its supposedly safe interior.

Outside, we see Belach's men approach, and Xenan can hear them. he can also hear the sounds of his wife from the hut, and knows she can't be moved. He does what all great warriors would do when facing superior numbers.
He runs away.
He runs away screaming... drawing the attention of all of Belach's men as they chase after him... AWAY from the hut and his wife.
Xenan: "Yah-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h!"Men: "There! Come on!" "He's getting away!"
As the men run after Xenan... two rising stars get OTHER ideas!
Bounty-Hunter 1: "Let them have the Centaur. Why settle for a bounty? Belach will pay a ransom for his daughter."

Bounty Hunter 1's Voice: (from outside) "Let's check in here."

The two Bounty Hunters go into the hut to search for Nika... and NEARLY don't find her among the debris. NEARLY. An unfortunate labor pain alerted them to her presence...

Bounty Hunter 1: "Yes, they are."
[As they pull the debris aside to access the women... a certain Warrior of our acquaintance chooses THAT precise moment to come to the RESCUE... and needless to say, a Fight ensues. Equally needless to say... SHE wins! ]
Xena: (She drops down next to Midwife Gabby) "How close is she?"
Gabrielle: "Very."
Xena: "OK, Nika... we're gonna take good care of you, I promise."
Nika: (Not sure if she believes her, but misery LOVES company!) "'OKay."

Xena: "Gabrielle, I'm gonna make an incision." (The Warrior Obstetrican hands her chakram to Midwife Gabby) Make this as clean as you can."
As Gabrielle wipes down the Chakram with whatever dirty rag she has been carrying with her for the last few weeks, she chit chats with Xena.
Gabrielle: "Why are they hunting us? Did you stop Belach?"
Xena: (The Destroyer of Nations has turned into a WIMP!) "I took him back to the Centaur camp. I thought if I could show him what he'd done... "
Gabrielle: "Did you get through to him?" (Xena shakes her head, which ROYALLY ticks off the AMAZON Queen!) "Xena, you should'a killed him."
Xena: (Wimpy Princess???) "Gabrielle... I couldn't. He's Borias' son, her father."
Gabrielle: "He slaughtered the Centaurs, and he won't stop until he kills Xenan."

how far apart are we from where julies ceaser leaves her for dead and when she meets belach. who really was'nt that bad of a guy. and they never really show her going to japan after that do they. cause if I remmber right she leave both belach and altie and goes to the land of chin and then on to japan and back to europe. am I right?
It depends on which time period you are talking about.
This is how I wangle it.
She led the defense of Amphipolis around age 16-17. (Alexander the Great led his first army to victory at age 16).
She was a pirate around 16-18 and met Caesar the first time probably when she was 17-18. He crucified her and left her on the beach at that time.
She went to Ch'in, Japan, back to Greece/Norse lands as the younger "evil" Xena... think age 18-19 to age 21-22
I suspect Solon was born when she was 21.
I think she was around 27 when she met Gabrielle in Potadiea.
She went again to Ch'in with Gabrielle at age 29 (season 3) and age 31 (season 5) and then to Japan with Gabrielle in season 6 which could be considered age 33 if you Don't count Their 25 year sleep and DO count Gabby's 1 year nap.
She met Belach before leaving for Japan that last time.
As for meeting Alti that last time... (which IS the next ep we will review) techinically it occurred when she was 29 since Rob Tapert said in his commentary on "When fates Collide" that it took place (in a different "universe") when Lao Ma was in power, at the time of "our" universe's season 3 "The Debt".
Just remember... there is NO real mathematical logic in the Xenaverse.
Is Belach a bad guy?
I think Xena said it best, when she corrected Gabrielle at the end of "The God you Know" (Caligula ep).
"He wasn't evil. He was damaged."
Thing is... Xena had no responsibility in creating Caligula.

So goodbye Ephiny, you'll be missed. I always figured that when the Amazons move to Paradise Island they take the Centaurs with them. It's an ok ep but not a great one.
One thing that does occur to me is that this casts Degine in a much better light, he's tricked into killing Borias because he thinks he's helping Xena rather than doing it for his own ends
