any V relaunch fans out there ?

You know, it's weird. We're two full seasons into NuV and I really don't know where I stand with my feelings.
The Power's that Be write the show like they heard the concept of the series in a Chinese Whisper, or at the very least without having seen a single episode of the original, they get everything wrong time and again --
For example, the good guys are The Resistance not The Fifth Column. A Fifth Column is a small group that operates within a large group to bring it down from within (ie A group good Visitors on board the Motherships), while a group of humans fighting againist an invading force is a Resistance.
They called the Visitor's V's, while in the original series V was a rallying cry to the Resistance. It meant "Our day of Victory" over the Visitors. Calling the Visitor's V's is stupid, having Visitor's call themselves V's is stupid on a level that cannot be calculated.
And after two seasons together, the Fifth Column is still only half a dozen people. Now I realize this is a budgetary concern, but we don't need a cast of hundreds to pull off the illusion of a large Resistance Movement.
The original series was fun. So what if they used the same effect over and over, and some (most) of the story lines were silly. It was fun. That's why, a series I saw when I was five years old (I'm 33 now!) still holds a special place in my heart. NuV doesn't.
That said, I'm really not sure why I watch it. Maybe nostalgia. Although every now and then they do some things right, and more so in Season Two then in One. I would like to see it continue, if only for the PTB's to have a chance to make up for the past mistakes, but my hopes are low.
As for the human's that were Blissed... I'd say it was implied that everyone that wasn't underground with Erica was effected, but like last seasons pathetic Red Sky nonsense, this will be quickly dealt with and swept under the carpet, just like the tracking device the Visitor installed in Father Jack when he was stabbed (anyone remember that? the PTB's don't).

There are two seasons. The second season ended a few days ago.
The original V might have been silly but it was fun--this new show had too many bland characters with the notable exception of Morena's Anna loved her, the Vs motivation was lame and their plan overly complicated for what they apparently wanted to achieve, the Vs were a poorly conceived alien race with nothing new to offer up and instead aped just about every cliche from sff including a Queen intrigued by emotions that could control her people with a Hive mind bliss, Jane Badler was wasted, the portrayal of the resistance was silly and only writer fiat allowed them to succeed and escape all the time, and the post 9/11 themes were tired.
This post has just quelled any temptation I might have had to seek it out on DVD.
My wife really likes it and I was really excited about the idea before it aired but it became one of those shows that I watch with my wife because she likes it.
Having said that the episodes started getting better at the end of this season and I find myself looking forward to a 3rd season, if there even is one.

I love this show I loved how season one ended with red sky. now season two ending was interesting as all out . they kill tyler which was not cool , the alien half breed kills
her father , the priest is now brain washed and we have this new world goverment military group which recruits erica . and then they also kill her ex. I liked this season I hope we will get a 3rd and it's longer than 10 or 12 episodes . and I think the writting has improved from last season .

Damn. I've been desperately looking for a new sf series to get into. Apart from rewatching Trek, only one found that came close was nuBSG. And I did like CoD (though tech not a series). Watched the V pilot (haven't seen original) but just didn't get it
EDIT: oops, do like The Event, but not sure if that's SF.
I like the new version a lot. As with the remake of Nikita, I was worried the show would just be a rehash, but it quickly found its own voice. It's only problem is that it's a serialized show at a time when current viewing tastes seem to be moving away from the
"telenovel" format, at least in the US. Me, I had to stop watching midway through the current season due to workload, etc. causing me to miss 4 episodes in a row. I didn't have a chance to make them up before the finale aired, so I'll catch up when the DVD comes out later.

Nah, Warner Brothers' is not allowing any legitimate on line viewings of S2. Only choices are the less savory online ones, or wait for the DVD (Or borrow a friend's copies)
It's on my catch up pile. Lost interest during season 1. One day I'll watch it. Just need to track down the DVD at my local library.
