Any UK fans seen it?

What did you think of it? In my cinema, it was 2/3 full and there were a few kids.

I thought it was good, better than First Contact,Nemesis and Insurrection. I thought the beginning was good, but how does that Kelvin get about with no nacelles? I might go to see it again. It's was not like any of the trailers. It's amazing how you can give a different perspective by showing selective clips. Kirk was not as much of a brat, Spock more logical. Interesting that the Vulcans have become like the Timelords in Dr who, though in Who there is only one of them left.

I hope, if they stick with this alternate/alternative timeline and they do a TNG film, they don't turn it into a pure action film with a Cardassain/Romulan/Klingon war. Wars bore the hell out of me. I hope they don't get rid of the Q and all those details of how humanity is going to evolve. That's what I watch TNG for.

Yeah, I saw it yesterday afternoon. It was only about half full, but that was at about five o'clock. The next showing was packed though (nipped in for the first half hour whilst waiting for the train), and the audience very appreciative.

Kelvin had one nacelle at the bottom, with the engineering/hanger bay at the top.

For me, again about 60% full (pretty good for a Saturday matinee) and with some kids here and there, including one who kept on trying to catch my eye. I ignored her - I mean, I was probably old enough to be her granddaughter.

As they keep on saying in the place I used to post at, Previews Always Lie™.

Who's to say that, given the amount of damage Nero did by existing in the past let alone destroying Vulcan and altering or preventing the destiny of 6-billion-to-the-power-of-infinity future lives, in the new timeline Picard and co will even exist at all?

I saw it on Thursday at 8pm it was quite empty in the cinema i was a bit shocked thought it would be really crowded, guess me desperately rushing to book my ticket in advance was a bit of an overreaction.

however i was in asda today getting some food and a bones action figure and in the check out a little kid was waving round his spock and kirk figures when he saw i had a mccoy one

The viewing I went to had about two dozen people in the cinema, though it was the Saturday matinee.

I thought it dealt nicely with the behemoth that Trek canon has become after 40 years of accumulating history, culture and philosophy. Trek had reached the point where you couldn't add a toothpick without someone crying 'canon violation'. To step into an alternate timeline gives them freedom to do something new, leaving 'my' Trek safe forever in aspic in its own timeline. Add to that the tremendous respect for real Trek in terms of look and feel, technology, uniforms etc, and I thought it was pretty good. Slightly weak plot, though - and Nero's motivation didn't convince me.

I'd love to see it in a packed theatre when you really get the feel of a crowd, but that ain't going t happen in Cornwall.

Saw it yesterday at noon.

About two thirds full for our screen (and it was showing on multiple screens). There weren't many kids in our showing (Not really young ones anyway) but the next showings seemed to have a few.

I enjoyed it:)

As I said in another thread, all of Friday's IMAX showings in Glasgow were sold out. Was mostly young folk at 6:30 if I remember right.

I saw it Friday just after mid day... and loved it. It was about 30% full .. mostly people in their early 20's from what I remeber.

Just back from the Sunday matinee showing. The cinema was probably 50%, there were a few fans in there, several families and couples. I laughed out loud at several points and there were a couple of other guffaws as well. I bloody loved it! I cried like a fangirl - which, apparently, I still am after all these years. Bones McCoy, you made me cry, shame on you! :techman:

I saw it on Thursday at the IMAX in Birmingham at 21:30. All the other showings were sold out! My first ever IMAX screening - and it was glorious. :D

This thread has led me to post for the first time in years!

I went to the IMAX showing at 16:30 in Birmingham and it and every showing for the whole weekend was sold out.

Going again in half an hour to my local conventional cinema with my other half so will let you know how busy it is. The queues were out the door last night so unless it was for Wolverine or some such it looks to be busy around here in the Midlands.

I need to get tickets to the IMAX showing in Glasgow. I found out when and where when at the BBC and was very tempted to head straight out the studio and take the short walk to buy IMAX tickets. Still, plety of time

I've been twice in Cineworld already - the Thursday morning I went to review it (I will never get over being paid by the BBC to watch Star Trek - geeky highlight of the year) and I was surprised to see the audience at that day and time a little over 3/4 full, and yesterday I returned and there were very few empty seats.

Saw it past Friday in Shepherd's Bush, cinema almost empty (but at 16:00 on a Friday I wasn't expecting anything more than that). Vue there is having like 100293784734+ projections a day, I don't know if it's just for Star Trek or what, but it's literally one every hour or so :P crazy.

Loved it, but I want to go see it again, if possible at an IMAX theater. Shame I'm on stand-by today and tomorrow, then in Japan and in Italy for a while... guess it'll have to wait a bit ;)
