Any pansexuals here?

Moi aussi. But I tend not to use the term, because it often just creates confusion.

It's not always simply being genderblind. I know people for whom that's the case, but personally I find gender-play and variant gender expressions attractive in and of themselves.

I like using the terms (omni/pan) because the more usage they get, the more people will want to figure out what they mean, the less mystifying it becomes.

Am I pansexual? No, I can’t say I’ve ever found this guy attractive.

I find it rather ironic that a thread can mention how uncomfortable people are with labels (which I am not, BTW, I am quite comfortable being labelled as a hetero, because it's, well, TRUE and all that) and then invent hip-sounding buzzwords like "pansexual" which is in itself a label.

Not to kill your hubris, but:

pansexual.

adjective 1. Psychiatry . pertaining to the theory that all human behavior is based on sexuality.

2. Also, omnisexual. expressing or involving sexuality in many different forms or with a variety of sexual outlets.

Origin:
1925–30; pan- + sexual

Those darn kids and their hip-sounding buzzwords from 1925.

"Pansexual" isn't a hip sounding word. It's been around a long time and is used in academic circles.

Edit: Spiff beat me to it.

I have never had any amorous feelings towards bread. Or any other baked goods really.

Love hurts, but sometimes can be quite sweet, but often very sticky and messy sometimes. I'm going to keep away from pains au chocolat from here on. :scream:

Despite my artistic interests in sexuality, I'm a pretty boring, vanilla heterosexual. Although, as a "method writer," I do experience my characters first person, and that includes female characters, and that includes female characters in sexual situations. Does that make me a bit of an autogynephiliac? Possibly.

On yet another hand, I do find an element of sexuality in almost everything, from a walk in the woods and Hubble photographs to Steampunk and saucy puppet shows and everything in between. So perhaps I am pansexual in that sense.

Ah, but the 20s were very hip indeed, much like the 60s. If only the 40-year cycle had continued.

I can appreciate the male form but I wouldn't want to have sex with a guy. And I wouldn't consider myself pansexual, if I'm understanding the definitions provided correctly. I don't think all my behavior is based on sexuality and I'm not omnisexual. Though I'm sure Sigmond Frued would've found a way to disagree.

This thread reminds me of that exchange in Red Dwarf where they're discussing whether inanimate objects have souls...

"Aren't you a pantheist?"
"Sure, but I'm not a fryingpantheist!"

Anyone here who's a fryingpansexual has my respect and disgust in equal measure, especially if the pan is hot.
