Any old timers still around?

Call the new place "The Sombrero." Then, when the eventual civil war begins, split the factions into the Large Sombreros and the Tiny Sombreros.

We should bring back the EFCL and make it a democracy and put a bunch of people who don't really like each other in charge of it. Just for a laugh, you know. :D

^ELIM! Stay here! *Ties Elim to a chair* ;)

Nick: No thanks, been there, done that. :p

This forum needs a 'like' button so I can express my 'like' of posts like the one above without having to post about it like I am now.

If we had a like button you couldn't raise your postcount by posting like-posts, which I daresay you wouldn't like at all. I think you'd really like it better if everything stayed like it is now.

Does anyone still care about their post count? What an insanely pointless thing to worry about.
Did people worry about it before? The only thing I worried about was the fact that I posted so much I left people behind that I'd rather had kept talking with in the lounge. I never felt at home in the lounge when I became VA, because I felt so alone - in the lounge that is. Most pals were still flaptains or rears. But now those who still hang out here seem to hang here in misc anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Hi Gagh! :)

The only thing I worried about was the fact that I posted so much I left people behind that I'd rather had kept talking with in the lounge. I never felt at home in the lounge when I became VA, because I felt so alone - in the lounge that is. Most pals were still flaptains or rears.
That was precisely the reason why we founded EFCL.
Misc is a nice place but the lounges are just more cozy, particularly the Redshirts', Captains' and Flaptains' Lounges.
I made a lot of friends there and quite a lot of them have even become my RL friends. I am not sure we'd have gotten so close if there hadn't been the lounges.

I think the fact half the board now have a custom title has kind of made the post count/rank thing less prominent. It certainly used to be something people cared about more, if my memory isn't faulty.

I'll be 40 next year. I know that still makes me a young 'un to some folks around here but it's getting harder to make '80s and '90s references in the forums without being called "old man." :p
