Any old timers still around?

The lower numbers are not exact. They are accounts that got imported and re-installed to here when the software changed. At the same time a lot of dead accounts got pruned. I can't remember when it was - around 2003 or 2004 I believe.
Originally C was #1 and now it's AnthonyF (user #1 is always the person who installed a board)

^^ I'm torn between hugging you or spanking you.. :p in any case... would m'dam plz read e-mails and such? :p ;)

Ah yes..

*hugs*

I joined the same week that either "Author, Author" or "Friendship One" aired on UPN, about a month before the Voyager finale.

You old timers must have some kind of metaphysical connection or something... How do you all manage to gravitate to a thread like this? ;) Anyway, would be so cool if there was an archive of the most popular threads from back then. I'll bet there were some terrific ones over the years, filled with wit and insight. :rommie:

I started looking at the early membership (1-30 range) and it's interesting to see how many members have remained mostly active. A good many that dropped off stopped posting around 2009-2010.

One oddity... found a member who joined in July of 1999 and just logged on a couple of days ago, with a grand total of 67 posts to their name. 67 posts across 14 years! :wtf:

One thing's for sure: when I first joined the board in 2001 I had no idea it'd turn into twelve years of fun and depravity. I figured it'd be some message board I visited every once in a while to talk Trek.

Man, was I ever wrong.

There are some threads in internet archives (screeenshots mainly). And most of us oldies are in contact with a few others and simply point them to this thread :)
(also, many of us are a bit overweight and the sheer mass of so many oldies creates a certain gravitational force that attracts other oldies until we form a planet of our own. :D )

Well, lessee...the continuing adventures of the Berman/Braga flame wars were always a favorite, culminating to its peak between Nemesis and Enterprise tanking. Then there was that guy who was starting a "serious" project to build a 1:1 full-scale Enterprise. That was a hoot. The TOS/NuBSG flame wars weren't as bad here as in other places, but it got feisty in spots, IIRC.

There have been so many entertaining conversations, it's hard to keep track of them all.

the game threads were pretty popular. Remember "Trek me this" ? (It was a Trek-themed variation of the "would you rather" threads we currently have in the lounges)

Yes sir! I will check it out later today. Promise! I don't use that account much any more so it's been quite a while since I checked it. A very long while actually.

We've been around long enough to know where to find each other. First lounge. Then Misc. After that skulk around in our favourite hang outs. :borg:

Indeed. Though my posting has been incredibly erratic over the years after the cancellation of ENT, I've always come back. I have a goal now I think to reach 10 000 posts, something everyone though I'd do ages ago. I was dubbed the next likely Fleet Admiral, the way I posted. Then... things happened. And life. I've got just over 200 posts until I'm rid of the Vice, something I could have managed in a day in 2004. Not any more though. Not any more.

I remember you (or the user name to be honest), but we've not exactly chatted, if I may put it that way. ;)

Ulva was one of the favorite posters in the old Enterprise forum. I don't think there was one solitary person over there who disliked her and she always had something fun and interesting to contribute to a discussion.

I remember you
Even more embarrassed....

She seems like a great person. ;)

I don't remember much of the Enterprise forum, I participated in the running cometary threads each week. But that stopped when I move here because I was then an hour behind.

I still voted/reviewed and all that but never paid much attention to who was what. I also didn't socialize much in those days.

Then when Enterprise went off the air, I left the board completely for like two years.

Don't be. You can't possibly know and/or remember everyone around here.
