yes, there was far too much red tape. I was very strongly opposed to all these board rules. I would have preferred something that's short and easy to remember, kinda like 10 board commandmends instead of 8 screen pages of dos and don'ts, but I was outnumbered.
The senate idea was pretty sound imo but such things work only with a small group. EFCL worked well first because it was a group of friends who fitted together. But then friend's friends joined, and their friends, which didn't fit in with everyone. It was rather inevitable that the board fell into fractions.

Oh, and someone mentioned that I seem familiar but I don't think I'm the person you're thinking of. There's a Kaestra (or used to be) here, and I'm pretty sure there are other Kestras floating around the internet too. But it's the name I've used online and I have never had any thoughts of changing it.

I was Captain Napalm when I first joined, which seems pretty weird, now. I swapped it for a more appropriate Calvin & Hobbes reference. Funny to think that now I've been posting on here for longer than that strip ran.

I probably wouldn't choose it now, but at this point, it seems pointless to change it.

I was, however, referring to PreatorX (slightly different spelling) : lanky guy from BC, dark haired, bespectacled, used to look a bit like Harry Potter. Last post February 2005

Welcome back Urgent Sky. I don't think we ever met in a direct dialogue but I recall having seen the name around.
This is really beginning to feel a bit like old times.
Btw, what happened to Bedpan Elemental, formerly a Mod here? He (or she??) once accused me of being Che's dual, claiming my English was too good - LOL! Things certainly have changed a bit.
