Any News On Slimline R2 DVD Sets?

The Caretaker

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
I'd really like to get TOS on DVD, but I don't particularly want the bulky sets that are currently available on Region 2. I'm assuming that it's only a matter of time until they get reissued in the Slimline Boxes like all the other series have been? Has there been any news on when or even if this is going to happen?

Thanks in advance!

:)

I havent heard of anything, but rumors have it paramount/cbs are working on releasing some new DVD sets (mainly just the Movies), so they might happen.

You don't need "official packaging."

There are several sites I know of where you can download hi-res DVD artwork and essentially make your own cases. This is my personal favorite:

http://www.rixgrafix.com/

You'll have to buy cases, of course... but they're cheap. And the artwork itself is free, so just take the file down to your local Kinkos (or whatever you have) and have them laser-print on glossy paper. You'll have a set different than any of your friends, and you get a choice as to which set you have (either from this site or from any of the others out there).

^ That's not really what I had in mind. The slimline sets here retail a lot less than the standard bulky versions, so seeing as I want them also for the cheaper price that kind of defeats the purpose.
