The big secret is that Shatner is rumoured to play McCoy.

Wouldn't it be funny if they just got the cast of "Heroes" to play the Enterprise crew?

Think of it...Adrian Pasdar as McCoy...Milo Ventimiglia as Kirk...Zachary Quinto as Spock...that girl that plays the cheerleader as Rand...Ando as Sulu...the guy that plays Hiro as Uhuru...Greg Gunberg as THE DEAD REDSHIRT...

I haven't heard anything since the Gary Sinise rumors were dispelled.
Too bad. Sinise is just honey-roasted enough to play Bones.
Agreed. I would have gone to see the movie based on that casting right there.

I liked that romour too, however I think he would be better for recasting the TV series, rather than a younger version of the TV series.

The only confirmed information about McCoy to come out of Paramount thus far is that he is going to be gay.
Spock and McCoy gay? So all those arguments were lovers quarrels?

What about Josh Holloway (Sawyer on 'Lost')
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0391326/

They would need to dye and cut his hair, but besides that he is the right age (38) and has that ornery southern good-ol' boy nature about him.

However, I doubt he could possibly film both 'Lost' and 'ST:XI' simutaneously.

I think the whole crew should be gay. Go bright lights and Broadway. That's it, that's the new twist - Star Trek: The Musical.

Everyone would be gay except Sulu. He'd be straight and get all the chicks.

I think we can all agree that Dr. Leonard H. McCoy was the role Gary Sinise was born to play.

The resemblance is uncanny.

The current rumor is that Karl Urban might play McCoy. Sites like trekmovie.com are disputing that he's being tapped to play the baddie.

I actually really wouldn't mind seeing Karl Urban as McCoy

Gary Sinese as McCoy??? hadn't heard that one, but he would be great for it..

I think so to. I know someone that works on all the CSI series and had her ask around, when the Sinese rumors hit, if it were true. She said that he'd never been approached, that the rumors were (of course) fan-based, but that he wanted the rumor to continue because he'd like to play the role; however, he is far too old for the age range of the movie and CSI:NY is in full swing right now. So it ain't gonna happpen.

Oh CMON! Did they ever fool you? :D

What about Josh Holloway (Sawyer on 'Lost')

Holloway is just too hunky; McCoy shouldn't be a hotty who could upstage Kirk. If only Michael Emerson weren't too old to play McCoy. (Born in '54, wow! He actually looks younger than that.)
