God I hated those idiotic toys from the 70's.
"Hey, why don't we take something from another line, paint it a different color, slap a 'Star Trek' sticker on it and instant phaser? Instant bucks with minimal investment! Or is it 'Star Track'? I can never keep that shit straight - y'know...the show with the green guy with the EARS! Those stupid kids won't know the difference."
Dollars to donuts that's exactly how a number of those conversations transpired back then.
