Any fans of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES?

Ive started watching the first season again. I remember liking the first season a lot, the second not as much at all, though I appreciated its seriousness.

^ You do know that there is already a TSCC thread right? I mean seriously people, how hard is it to use the freaking search, or better yet, browse through a couple pages!

^ That pic looks like an internet meme in the making, if it hasn't already been one.

Terminator: TSCC is a very good show overall, though.

It wasnt clear to me that there was a thread for this already; moreover, the thread that does exist relates specifically to the character of Cameron. Your incredibly rude post reminds me of why I am often afraid to post anything at this site.

I really liked the first season but felt the second season was too plodding and uneven, though it ended on a relatively high note. Two things that I never expected out of Sarah Connor was how good Lena Headley would be at replacing Linda Hamilton and how badass Brian Austin Green was. BAG was great. I wish they had name checked him at least in Salvation. He needs to be part of the Terminator legend from now on.

While the Admiral can be a touch rough at times, TREKBBS is a gentle place, full of kind souls.
You want a reason to fear?
Go to COD HQ....now that's scary stuff. :klingon:

I loved this show; sad to see it go. At least the finale is somewhat of a segue into Terminator Salvation. TSCC just got better and better as it went along, with only a small handful of "filler" episodes.

Hamudm, I also admire the show. I did feel that it probably needed at least one more season to really soar. But I am really loving rewatching S1.

Mistral, I agree, of course, that many folks here are lovely. But more and more, I experience a lot of bluster and intolerance from some. It disappoints me that sci-fi fans are acting this way.

Hombre, not only did you start a new thread based on a subject that's been recently discussed, you only wrote a two-sentence OP. Can't speak for others, but such flimsy openers really put me off. If you care about something enough to discuss it, why not put some thought behind, and come up with something new to say? Or, at the very least, choose at least one point and argue it. Your T4 OP was much more substantive, and gave people stuff to respond to and work with. ;)

Gaith, that's a fair point to make about providing a more substantive opening comment. But youre also implicitly justifying the aggressive tone with which the poster Admiral Young commented on my thread. I dont want to drag this out, but, as I have said, I have been dismayed by the aggression and condescension I have frequently found in these forums.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand--as I said, I am watching S1 again. Among the many aspects of the series I like is its thoughtfulness. It actually works *through* scenes rather than relying on the jigsaw frenetic pacing and editing of other series.

Summer Glau's performance recalls, too much, I think, her role in Firefly and how she played it. But still--she is wonderful in the role, and never uninteresting.

Thomas Dekker is a really inspired casting choice as John Connor. He's believably sensitive and somewhat sarcastic in a way that suggests Edward Furlong in T2. I love Nick Stahl, and he gives a fine performance in T3, but he is really miscast as John, if we remember Furlong. (Claire Danes also gives a good performance, but is much more miscast. )

Lena Headey is, to my mind, what's great and a misfire about the series at once. She is certainly a compelling, strong, tough, sensitive, intelligent, and classically beautiful presence. But I find it hard to connect to her at times, again because I think, despite all that she brings to the role, she, too, is miscast. Linda Hamilton had a tough, raw, earthy quality in the role that Headey, a cerebral and somewhat detached actress, doesnt match. But Headey is also interesting enough in the role to keep the series afloat.

Brian Austin Greene was a revelation in S1. But I felt that his role in S2 was much less interesting than I'd hoped. And all of the stuff about Riley was teen-tedious. The BSG chick was an unusual character, but I felt that that whole plot arc was simply not interesting enough for an entire season of mystery.

I do remember really liking the Terminatrix Scottish ginger-haired rocker lady, though! It will be interesting to rewatch S2.

Right now, I just finished S1 episode 3, "The Turk." It was really powerful and the best one so far.
