Ah ok. I have to be honest, I haven't followed much of anything Trek related since I started uni 6 or so years ago. It wasn't until I randomly met her this year that I got completely curious and looked into it. I just assumed she wouldn't do much on the West Coast since the EC is better for plays. I'll definitely look for it though in the future.

The blue strip in the middle of the stage is the river nile. In the 2nd half the glass cover is removed and they actuall walk through it.

Wow, J'Rulz, thanks for posting these links. I would not have thought to look for them, but I sure did enjoy watchin' 'em.

Normally I enjoy Kates acting but from the little I saw in the clips, I'm inclined to agree some of the reviews that were "less that gracious" about her performance (The production got a lot of bad reviews, but most production do get their share of haters). So hard to form an opinion based on a few minutes.

The production was quite captivating, actually.
It started with the actors running from the back of the theater, behind us, onto the stage, and off and on again with quite a lot of exuberant abandon. The two main leads were "Shakespearian" (loud/overwrought) in their zeal for life and each other and power. The clips are too small to hold the stage much less their performances.
The supporting roles were wonderful too, from Cleopatra's Lady in waiting, to Marc Antony's General, to Octavias, to "the hilarious Messenger".
Oh, and I don't know what official title the guy with the great abs/pectorals had... but from my view from the shallow end of the pool, he didn't get NEARLY enough credit for HIS work.
I enjoyed it quite a bit, as did the 4 people with me, one of whom couldn't have picked Mulgrew out of a lineup before the show if she asked her.

I've run across at least one negative review, can't recall where.
This style of play certainly isn't "Tea at Five" and can be off putting for some. Be that as it may, it WAS great fun to see the "Captain" be very UN-Captainlike.

No insult intended, henbane, but in my inexperience with the genre, the play seemed to flow a lot better when you start at the beginning and ride it through.
