Anti-proton is sling weapon from what I can tell. You have the anti-mater particle stripped of positron in cloud. You then shoot electron current past it swaying the normal atomic cloud to reach a different set of quanta emmissons needed for the phase modulation. It's got to involve anti-mater on board making it more dicey, if it picked up a positronic charge the thing could detonate. Odd. Data runs on positronic calculation so... He's not really going to be ideal on handling one on the away team.... Or rather more hazardous.

The positronic brain is based on a more favorable computation from refraction of positronic flow. The simpler positronic particle I imagine proved easier. Bending across a stripped atom of it's electron I guess is the concepts. Quanta frequency variance I guess of positronic type. So riccoshade one way and soong makes data, riccoshade back and it's a frequency harnessed for a weapon
