Sources tell Variety the two actors who have emerged as front-runners to land the title role in the superhero feature are Joseph Gordon Levitt and Paul Rudd. Insiders warn there’s still a remote possibility another actor could emerge but as of now, Gordon-Levitt and Rudd are the main contenders the role.

Even though the article writes it as though they are both contesting for the same role, Pym presumably, maybe that's not the case.

How about Rudd as Pym and Levitt as Lang?

So, the same source that told me about the Paul Rudd thing has contacted me again. I was actually contacted on Monday, but I went through multiple sites and contacted some friends to track down and find out how legit this rumour actually is, so bare with me here. The new rumour that is going around says, that The Wasp WON’T feature in Ant-Man, but Janet Van Dyne WILL. The source says, “Janet will be a love interest and a major supporting character, we would see multiple references to her future as The Wasp throughout the film.” As if this wasn’t enough, the source later told me WHO Marvel and Edgar Wright had in their eyes for the role. It seems that Parks & Recreation star Rashida Jones is on top of Marvel’s shortlist for the role of 'Janet Van Dyne'. Rashida Jones is said to be Marvel’s top pick for her “chemistry with the other actors.” The source highlighted Paul Rudd and Parks & Recreation co-star, Chris Pratt. Paul Rudd and Rashida Jones have starred opposite each other in two films, those films being, I Love You Man & Our Idiot Brother.

Interesting to Note that Paul Rudd and Rashida Jones have a ton of chemistry with each other from previous movies.

According to IGN, cast will be known before the end of the year, and Feige says Ant-man will be a 'heist' flick:

Marvel Studios' president of production Kevin Feige explained to IGN, in an extended interview which you can watch at the bottom of the page, that the British director is currently in the Marvel offices every day "tweaking the drafts [of the script] with Joe Cornish... and we're crewing up and prepping. There should be cast announcements, probably before the end of the year."
He also went on to explain that Ant-Man, which is scheduled for a July 2015 release, won't be your regular super hero movie as it will straddle another genre entirely - the heist movie.

Interesting. I'm curious what that entirely means, but it will hopefully be interesting an exciting. I know the plan is to make it stand-alone, but I'm curious if there are plans to bring Ant-Man to the Avengers (even if just in the post-credits scene).

BTW, what was that last question in the interview, I couldn't quite make it out?

ETA: Not that it was really in doubt, but it's clear they're actively pursuing a Doctor Strange movie.

One of thins I've loved about the Marvel movies is that they're actually letting the movies all be different, instead of trying to make them all the same kinds of action movies. It sounds like this should be continuing the trend.
