Ant-Man: Info, Pics, Rumors, Casting and Details till release

We now have our first good look at Paul Rudd in full costume (and not miniscule this time), via the cover of the next Entertainment Weekly (click for EW page with full cover):

:techman:

Got to say, the trailer left me kind of cold. Didn't really get a "feel" for it and the "humor" in it seemed sort of forced. And the flying bug he was on sounded like a helicopter?!

The trailer has NOT sold the movie for me and I still find the concept way too silly even by Marvel standards. The post Avengers bump may be the only thing that brings in casual viewers but even then I doubt its going to be a mega hit like GoG.

I thought it was a pretty good teaser it doesn't tell much of the story but given how long ago they finished filming I thought it showed plenty. Although it appears to be a low key start to phase 3, which is OK with me.

Is that the bar now? A mega-hit like GotG? I don't think anyone is or ever has expected that. I think Ant-Man will do just fine even if it isn't a "mega-hit".

I want to like this movie, but that trailer was... not... great...

They really should have been playing up the humor and craziness and not made a somber Dark Knight style trailer...

I mean in terms of it being a complete unknown to the general public. No one really know how GoG would be taken by non Marvel Comic fans and Ant-Man is a even thougher sell to the public due to the silly name.

They tried to defuse that kind of criticism with Rudd's line in the trailer. I think it worked, at least for me.

I'm only familiar with Ant Man through all his guest appearances in other titles that I'm reading, I've never really read a solo title of his so I'm not sure what to expect. Though I do know a new run of Ant-Man starts tomorrow, though I'm not sure if I'm going to grab it.

Just watched the trailer.

Pym is not just a bad guy, he is Marvel's Amanda Waller running his own Task Force X.

He must have breezed through hundreds of disposable people before trying to get to the other side of human trials with Pym Particles. And now that he has a working model, he weaponizes doomed poor people... No, wait, everyone does that.

But I can certainly see Pym needing to find another Ant-Man every couple months to fight this battle or that for the common good or Henry Pym's good.

Charles Xavier was a psychopath who sent a stream of 15 year old dipshits to fight Magneto.

Something dark is afoot.

So, what happens if Giant-Man (Goliath?) has dandruff?

Hard crusts of skin the size of a refrigerator falling for 90 feet into some poor buggers car roof.

I wasn't wowed by the teaser, but the important thing to remember is it's a teaser. I wasn't wowed by the GotG teaser either. It's just difficult to really get a feel for everything based on just that.

Certainly, it's not promoting "zany humor" in the same way as GOTG. Aside from that, it looks like it could be a typical Marvel movie or it might not, who knows.
