Ant-Man: Info, Pics, Rumors, Casting and Details till release

We'll you're talking about something like a 20 year difference between the two, right? Slattery can't really play 30-something Stark and Cooper certainly can't pull off 50-something Stark. As long as you have both of em to use, why not use em both? Having the founding members around doesn't mean they have to be at the founding in the scene. It could be a scene set as late as the early 70s even.

Atwell can be aged up more subtly and convincingly than Cooper could be, especially since an aged Cooper wouldn't look much like Slattery.

I just think that it would be potentially confusing for audiences, since every time Peggy Carter and Howard Stark have appeared together, it's been Dominic Cooper as Stark. It's like if in X-Men Apocalypse, Patrick Stewart played Professor X and Michael Fassbender played Magneto (without any time travel involved); it will look a little odd.

Potentially, but as long as the dates are established, I don't see a problem, because how many people would really know who Howard Stark is to be confused? Prof X and Magneto are really the titans of that section of the MU, Howard is a supporting character at best.

Yeah, but by the time Ant-Man comes out Dominic Cooper's Howard Stark will have played a big supporting role in Agent Carter, so he will be a lot more familiar to audiences. Honestly, I think I'd rather just see them stick to Cooper at this point, since he is already more associated with the character than John Slattery.

I'm fine with keeping consistency between eras. Cooper is the 1940s Howard Stark, Slattery is the more modern one. I'm sure he won't go through the entire movie without ever being addressed by name, so the audience can catch up to who he is very quickly even if they don't remember Iron Man 2.

The author of this piece isn't the only one to come up with this theory. I thought the exact same thing and I'm sure it's not just the two of us. The language is right there to interpret.

From Marvel’s official synopsis of Avengers: Age of Ultron:

“When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program…”
Pause tape!
What words now jump out at you?
“Jumpstart” and “dormant.”
Not “creates.”
Whatever mistake or miscalculation births the malevolent artificial intelligence of Ultron pre-existed beyond whatever it is Stark does to revive it.
........
Could Pym be name-checked as the creator of the dormant program Stark jumpstarts, both satisfying long-time Marvel fans and serving as a lead-in and means to elevate the film that follows Age of Ultron two months later?
Something to keep an eye on, at least.

I like that, just like one of my biggest complaints of the first Iron Man was that Jarvis was a computer not a human butler, but they seem to be fixing that coming up on Agent Carter. It really makes the MCU something with real depth and gravity to know that world didn't start in 2008.

I like that idea. It would be a great way to have Stark create Ultron, without totally erasing Pym's role in his creation.

Comicbook.com is passing along info from Evangline Lilly in an interview that her Hope Van Dyne's mom did indeed play A superheroine in the MCU at some point. No official codename of said character is stated. Beyond that the speculation can continue.

“I thought Edgar’s idea to blend the [Hank and Scott] stories was brilliant,” Lilly tells BuzzFeed. “You’re going to have fans up there who insist that you tell the story of Hank Pym, and fans up there who will be more on the Scott Lang side of it.…I think we are going to come close to pleasing them all. And what’s cool is that, you know, Janet Van Dyne is my mom. Hank Pym is my father. I was raised by two superheroes. I’m no schlump. I’m a pretty smart, competent, capable, kick-ass female. She’s very cool.”

Possibly a little slip up in an interview? Raised by two superheroes. Now one instantly thinks mom/dad but could she mean an uncle, close friend that was always around and helped raise her? If so who could that be?

She's a comic superhero. While it may be true, I wouldn't read too much into it.

Judy Greer speaks to her role in Ant-Man as Lang's estranged wife.
"I'm Paul Rudd's estranged ex-wife," said Greer, referencing Rudd's titular role as Scott Lang. "We have a daughter together and our relationship is, well, estranged, but I feel like my character is still rooting for him to succeed. I guess that's about as much as I can say."

While not much of a quote it of course fuels the discussion of their daughter Cassie. If Ant-Man takes off, and it could, this saga has an element with Cassie that could add to the tapestry of a trilogy.

It seems that there is a finished trailer, although no word on when we will see it.

Also, Marvel will be pubishing a two-issue official tie-in comic featuring a Cold War-era adventure of Michael Douglas' Hank Pym in February and March.

A total redesign has been done.

A teaser trailer has been put together and is allegedly coming in January.

Without a hint of spoiler, I know in my bones that Yellow Jacket is going to turn out to be Michael Douglas, and everything that happened in the first half is a wind up putting Lang in place as the perfect patsy.

Corey Stoll was cast as Darren Cross/Yellowjacket.

Time Travel, makeup/mask or a remote control where Michael has a joystick that controls Corey's brain/body.

I keep watching science fiction where the helpful fathering figure turns out to be the secret supervillian.

I'm beginning to believe that all old people are evil.

Shit.

The wig fooled me.

Did not recognize the bald junkie from House of Cards as the Alcoholic with the luxurious mane in strain.

That artwork is pretty cool. Very curious to get our first look at the movie.

The speculation mill is suggesting that the Ant-Man trailer may debut with the 2-hr Agent Carter premiere on ABC Tuesday Jan 6.

as speculated, Marvel will show the trailer during Agent Carter
