So about 1 minute into picking this up again, I say, "Tuvok did it all." And that killed it for me.
They really do make him look screwed up, don't they? A mock execution of his captain?
I absolutely loved the bit where Possessed Chakotay comes to the bridge and Kim says, "Nice to see you again," and he says, "Good to be back," and phasers the shit out of him without batting an eye.
Besides that, not too much else. The episode itself goes beyond not making sense. How did the Bajoran guy manage to hack into the Fed's network and tamper with Tuvok's son's message? And why would have have known, 7 years earlier, to program everyone to take over Voyager, which hadn't even launched yet?
So I agree that this one was bad. It's a shame, because it started with a lot of promise.
