Another trip down memory lane... one-hit wonders!!!

The 1980s had tons of them... That's part of why I love that decade. :D
Off the top of my head:

After the Fire - "Der Kommissar"

.

Der Kommisar was a hit for Falco first!

Thanks for telling me -- I did not know that! I'm guessing, though, that After the Fire's version was more successful, because that's the only one I've ever heard.

See what I mean? I really do learn something new each day in this place!

Falco's was in German. After the Fire's was an English re-write of the original which is why it got more airplay in the states.

Don't see these mentioned, and I'm only aware of one hit each:

Detachable Penis, by King Missile
I Wanna be a Flintstone, by Screaming Blue Messiah

What about Go Ninja Go ;)

Crazy Rap seems fairly well known among at least juvenile people, so maybe they're a two hit wonder ;)

The rest are pretty good, though.

I'll go with some 90s alternative rock one hit wonders to add to the list

Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta

Blind Melon - No Rain

Toadies - Possum Kingdom

Seven Mary Three - Cumbersome

Marcy Playground - Sex and Candy

Cracker - Low

Semisonic - Closing Time

Tommy Tutone - "867-5309"

Jesus Jones - "Right Here, Right Now"

Arrested Development - "Mr. Wendal"

Living Colour - "Cult of Personality"

Escape Club - "Wild, Wild West"

Information Society - "What's On Your Mind"

King Missile - "Detachable Penis"

2Nu - "Ponderous"

Dog's Eye View - "Everything Falls Apart"

Joan Osbourne - "What If God Was One of Us"

'Til Tuesday - "Voices Carry"

The Icicle Works - "Birds Fly (Whisper to a Scream)"

Lou Bega - "Mambo No. 5"

Chumbawamba - "Tubthumping"

Again, I will emphasize that this is from my perspective, and it's possible some of the above artists had some lesser-known hits, or songs that were more popular outside of North America.

As for the great Asia debate-I was there when they toured on the first album-they were the hottest ticket in town-I guarantee you they weren't a one-hit wonder. These guys dominated the airwaves at the same time Mario Bros. was the hot arcade video game. I can remember KUPD(Phx) blasting them on a rotation that seemed practically 24/7. Almost every song was hot stuff at the time.

I think the biggest debate about being a "one hit wonder" here is the regionalization. For example, in the USA David Hasselhoff would be considered a zero-hit wonder. Maybe in the United Kingdom, Chesney Hawkes has more than one song.

Sugar Hill gang had 2-3 hits!! Ever hear of Apache, or Eight Wonder?

Devo also had a few hits, including Beautiful World, Freedom of Choice, Working in a Coal Mine.

I also believe A-ha and several other acts you mention were big internationally in their time.

RAMA

Those ones just stood out the most to me. A-Ha, Right Said Fred and Devo wouldn't qualify either imho (on account of the simple fact that they've all had more than one hit).

The Proclaimers in particular are nowhere near deserving of that label. They have a huge fanbase, sold millions of albums worldwide and have had 6 top 40 hits in the UK.

Besides, you're a tool for not liking almost everything I do. ;)
