Another Trek Theater Production -- TWOK

This is a cool concept. I didn't realise this was a comedy during the Kobyashi Maru simulation. The performances are good. I think the director could have given more directing and the jokes were a bit thin, but laugh out loud in places. I bet it would have been much better sitting in the audience. Very entertaining!

I thought they had some cute ideas, and some of the actors were funny. The guy playing Terrell couldn't remember his lines, though.

What bogged down the production were the scene changes. They had too much trouble bringing the lights up and down, which made all the attack sequence stuff clunky...they simply should have allowed the actors to draw attention to their "bridge" without the lighting cues.

That's fun. Gonna have to watch all of that.
I tried to talk my local theater into a night of Trek, doing 2 TOS episodes (Dagger of the Mind and ...). We'd run it for three weeks (and build one captain's chair for each week) and then we'd sell the props & sets on ebay with a poster and CD with pics from the production. And we'd sell shirts in the lobby, uniform front, poster on the back.
I'd even talk to amateur 3d artists, and get opening credits.
We'd cast Kirk, Spock, & McCoy, then have a rotating cast of about 10 who would play all other parts.
There were three of us on the board that thought it was a good plan, but the others laughed at us. I started getting estimates and started talking to Paramount/CBS until the board finally killed it.

That's pretty cool! I wish we would have these things out here.... but unfortunately the fan community's rather small in the Netherlands.
