Annoying Over Played Songs..

This thread is about overplayed songs, so it's not about how popular a song is or how many awards it's garnered. Just saying.

You asked why it is being played on the radio so much. I answered. So why don't you clamber down from that high horse there pal.

Just saying.

It was a rhetorical question, something you don't necessarily have to answer. Why don't you simmer down?

Just saying.

Sounds like it's time for Flash!

Remind me again that's one of it's so bad it's good films. Yes it's a cheesy film and it knows it. And yes it had a decent soundtrack by Queen.
It's an awesome film. Pure fun wrapped in cheese. A lot better than that TV show some years back.

Could that be in part as that was the most recent version prior to the TV show, it's what the TV show was compared against.

I'm perfectly entitled to post without being mini-modded by you, son.

Soulja boy.
Anything by Taylor Swift.
I avoid the radio, since there's like five people picking the playlists countrywide.

You'd think that people would have had enough of "Silly love songs."
But I look around me and I see it isn't so.

Anything by John Mellencamp. Don't get me wrong, solid performer, but they are very American songs that to me don't sit well in an Australian playlist.

And I still can't listen to Lay Your Love On Me by Racey. FTN.

...whereas they're songs I can and do listen to over and over again without a qualm.

Unlike "Happy", which is the sort of relentlessly played abomination of an excuse for a song that almost makes me wish I was deaf.

To each their own, of course.

"Shiny Happy People" and "Losing My Religion" by REM

"Sit Down" by James

"Come On Eileen" by Dexys Midnight Runners

"The Whole of the Moon" by The Waterboys

It seems that the radio stations here believe these are the only songs the artists in question have ever recorded.

I guess 'Gangnam Style' has died a well deserved death and disappearance from the airwaves? At least my gym hasn't played it recently.

"Come On Eileen" has actually come full circle for me. It was played to death when it came out in the 80's and got to the point where I couldn't stand it. These days though, I enjoy hearing it again.
