Annihilation (Natalie Portman, 2018)

So did anyone catch this one? I saw it last week and I thought it was just ok. Very slow pace, akin to Arrival, but nowhere as thought provoking. Natalie Portman did ok in the role, but she really didn't have anything complex to do. Just an OK movie in my opinion.

I would agree that it was just OK. It's like a B-movie with high production values and good acting, but still ultimately a B-movie.

I think Alex Garland has a masterpiece in him but it may take a while for it come out.

Netflix keeps advertising it to me, so I'm probably going to check it out at the weekend. Has anyone read the book to compare?
