Anis worst trek episode

Well, I'm not going to argue against it being one of the worst. But it's not the worst. Never.

For me, most of the other worst-ofs that get talked about here have some semblance of credibility or entertainment value, or sheer camp. They may be horrible, but I can mine some entertainment out of even a "And The Children Shall Lead."

Not so with ANIS. Never before had I seen a Trek episode featuring a whiny, petulant Captain of the freaking titular ship whom we were supposed to root for anyway. The Agony Booth review summed it up perfectly for me in saying that ANIS, alone amongst Trek episodes, seems to hate the people watching it for wanting to consume such shit. The writing actually feels hostile.

Out of curiosity, what do you consider the worst episode ever?

"Code of Honor" easily. Not only is it stupid, insulting and racist – no, on top of that it is also totaly boring. I agree to almost all points you make about "A Night in Sickbay" to some extent. But it at least has some rewatchability to it.

Maybe not the worst episode, but certainly the worst character assassination ever committed.
No, that dubious honor goes to Voyager's "Endgame".

It's been years since I've seen Code of Honor, so you may be right about the boring part. (I know you're right about the rest of it. ;)) I guess it's time to rewatch it so I can do a comparison.

Still, the fact that I'm willing to watch Code of Honor again for any reason probably puts it above ANIS; if I never see another frame of that episode again, it'll be too soon.

True. Archer never had a character to assassinate in the first place. ;)

Voyager's "Fury" is the worst episode.

Not only the worst episode in Star Trek but the worst episode ever made.

Badly written and insulting with character destruction as the only purpose.

Since we've had more thorough discussions of Worst Episodes recently, and this seems to focus largely on ANIS, I'm going to close this and suggest if you want to discuss ANIS explicity you do it in the Enterprise forum.
