Andromeda - Gene Roddenbury's

RHW created every aspect of the show. Gene a scribble writer, a passing thought in the show, and he doesn't even know how to spell Andromeda...Of course RHW was the only one we can credit with creating the show and he also designed the ship, did the makeup, etc., He was the man!!! and I have seen the error of my ways.

Sarcasm is not a substitute for reason.

I see no reason to enlighten you.

Dude, you're the one who thinks this was a series "worthy of respect." You have no enlightenment to lend.

With the exception of season five, Andromeda was fun series worthy of watching and enjoyment.

It was decent for a year and a half. After that it was a brainless waste of time. Certainly nothing "worthy of respect," at least by adults.

Lexa Doig was always hot, though.

Yes she was.

And it was always "brainless", right from the first scene of the first episode. It was still fun and worth an hour of my time every week.

I think it's a fun show and watchable. No it's not up there with better sci-fi shows like Star Trek, BSG, B5 etc but I still think it's worth a watch.

Re: Andromeda - Gene Roddenberry's

It also counts somewhat that his wife Majel Barrett Roddenbury produced the show.
Say it with me.

Rod-den-berry

Not "bury".

Now teach me to pronounce Lexa Doig's last name, I know I'm getting it wrong.

I keep coming back to some of the basic concepts behind the show. The whole idea behind the High Guard is very 1950's old school science fiction, Kevin Sobo was physically perfect for the role. A steel jaw, square shoulder, recruiting poster hero.

A self aware intelligence as the entire ship, not just inside a computer, was well executed by Lexa Doig. Liked the idea of her-them-it being on screen, as hologram and as robot at the same time.

Arguable it could of been a better show if the 300 years round a black hole had been dumped, in favor of a show about the High Guard at it's height. It wouldn't of HAD to of been another star trek. Maybe a bit of Honor Harrington thrown in too.

If the series was made by another company, i think it would have been much better.

However I still watched the whole show and found it fun.

It lost some of its charm in season three however.

Making the show about the Commonwealth at it's height would make it too much like Star Trek IMO. The way it was it was rather similar to Blake's 7 more than anything else.
