Spoilers Andor season one

^ ummm does someone need to say it? Most of Star Wars is crap. Let’s not go casting stones. Everyone just live and let live. Enjoy the stuff you like, ignore the rest. You’re not going to get 100% your way, and you might appreciate at least some of the stuff that’s not if you take it on its own terms.
It is mostly crap. And I'm throwing stones at the pedestal of Star Wars being special and must be special.

Variety is the spice of life, and this approach will in the long run contribute to the continued longevity of the Star Wars franchise. Indeed, the recent Sequel Trilogy proves that just sticking to the old tired formula won't create any lasting impressions of the fanbase, as indeed here we are, three years after the Sequel Trilogy ended and it has largely faded from the public consciousness.

I don't have a problem with the "old, tired formula" for Star Wars. My main problem with the Sequel Trilogy was that it did so with bad writing and a lack of originality. I don't mind if a Star Wars production is something different from the last one, as long as Lucasfilm utilize good writing. "Andor" has some good writing. But I believe it also has some writing flaws. Every time I bring up what I believe is a flaw, people try to dismiss it or make excuses for it. But their arguments always turn out to be ineffective to me. It seems, sometimes, as if hardly anyone wants to acknowledge the idea that "Andor" has flaws. I have managed to spot flaws in every Star Wars production I have seen. Including "Andor".

Maybe. It doesn’t read humorous as is.
I guess you had to be there...

Flaws are hard to manage. Even the OT has flaws but people feel they are willing to overlook them because the overall whole is well done. Rogue One has some significant flaws but again it gets rated highly.

It just comes down to expectations.

You have failed to identify a single legitimate flaw.

What will Mon Mothma do? I can't see her taking the offer, but who knows, it will make for interesting TV.

It would be cool if she doesn't go that route though and decides to take more of a risk.

I think she won't do it. I think this adds more conflict. She rejects that, for her daughter, but now she has to find another way. And her daughter probably won't be all the wiser or even hears of it and snaps at her for it. 'I would had liked to have met him! Something exciting for once!', and Mothma gets dirt thrown on her but I think this is one line she won't cross. It'll make her pay for it, however.

But seriously what the hell is wrong with Chandrilia.

I have to wonder if you ever wanted Star Wars in the first place. Or if you simply wanted a well-made science-fiction series from the SYFY Channel. Well, you got it with "Andor". Which makes me wonder if this will solely be the future of the franchise. If so, I just might part ways with the Star Wars franchise. And I still believe "Obi-Wan Kenobi" was the best thing I've seen from Lucasfilm in recent years.

Perhaps. I know I've never liked the Force, I've never liked how the galaxy became smaller and smaller even with The Empire Strikes Back. Something like Legend of the Galactic Heroes is much more my fancy, or just stories of the rebellion from the EU where we followed grunts like Wedge or the Special Forces run around a rich, living galaxy. I didn't need nor want to see Obi-Wan fight Vader again with superrocks, Obi-Wan should had never had such a show IMO. I just want to see a Galactic Empire in full force fight a rebellion of its own making. And in that, Andor delivers. Hell, Andor itself has not resisted weird connections, like now, Vel is tied to Mon Mothma, or we saw a Star Destroyer deployed to Aldani for no reason when some other cruiser would do, or Sandtroopers on the beach planet - would had much more preferred Imperial police, keep Stormtroopers for something more climatic.

Exactly how long have you been following the Star Wars franchise?

I haven't been following this thread long so I don't know what flaws you pointed out other than what for me amounts not to a flaw but a choice: they didn't want to tell a story about Jedi and Sith, princes and magics. Other shows are doing that, and that's not what Rogue One focused on. This series is about something else, and you can enjoy it or not. The fact that it's in the Star Wars universe does not mean it has to be about certain aspects of it.

When you say flaws I think inconsistencies, bad effects or musical cues, weak acting, pacing issues, stuff like that. And, I mean, everything has flaws. I dunno, this isn't as escapist as other Star Wars. It's about stuff in the real world that enrage us all. Maybe that's just not your cup of tea. There'll be another Star Wars series and movie before you know it (lots of them) and maybe they'll be more up your alley. Certainly there's a lot of movies, series, books, comics, games, etc to revisit or try for the first time. Ever read any of the Timothy Zahn books? His first trilogy is still a favorite.

I will say though, everyone, let's try to remember to be nice, including and especially to people who have different opinions than us.
