It won't. Disney has been doing variety with Star Wars, we've seen it with the anthology movies and now with the Disney+ TV shows. Rogue One was a war movie, Solo looked at the criminal underbelly of the SW universe. The Mandalorian is basically a space western, as was Book of Boba Fett though told from the perspective of an aspiring crime lord. Obi-Wan was basically a lost Samurai in search of purpose, and now Andor exploring the origins of rebellion against fascism from the perspective of the ordinary people.Which makes me wonder if this will solely be the future of the franchise.
Disney Star Wars is embracing variety and allowing the franchise to be what it could be rather than following a narrow formula of what it should be. Not all these approaches are going to work for everyone, but each approach is going to work for someone. And the great part for those who don't like one particular approach, in a few months another show will come along providing a new and different perspective on Star Wars mythos, and maybe this will connect with one who wasn't as impressed with the other.
Variety is the spice of life, and this approach will in the long run contribute to the continued longevity of the Star Wars franchise. Indeed, the recent Sequel Trilogy proves that just sticking to the old tired formula won't create any lasting impressions of the fanbase, as indeed here we are, three years after the Sequel Trilogy ended and it has largely faded from the public consciousness.
