Why did Luthen even mention Yavin to Lonni? What of the not insignificant chance that Lonni was wired or intentionally setting him up? Why do that for no potential gain?

That is probably my one issue with season 2, every bugger seems to know about Yavin!

I guess in that case it suggests Lonni was never walking away from that bench, but even so, as you say he could have been wired.

If it was the case that Lonni was wired, the ISB would assume that "Yavin" was a code phase for killing a compromised agent. There was a Yavin Accord at some point, as Obi-wan references it back in The Clone Wars when he wants to stall things via negotiations.
