Spoilers Andor - Season 2

Thought I stick rouge one on.
The meeting with Andor and his contact. Just noticed Andor knows Galen Erso's full name, which was given to him via the info from Kleya.
Also is that Melshi breaking out Jyn?

Presumably that's prompted them breaking Jyn out as well. Given she was under an assumed name it's interesting they found her so quickly, unless she was always on their radar but deemed unimportant until Kleya's message?

Sounds plausible. Had rouge one been a tv show and not a movie sure that would have been expanded on.
Feels a little strange almost going from the Andor to Rouge one in terms of pacing due one being a tv show and one a movie. Rouge One is a bit more faced paced compared to Andor's slow burn.
But it continues nicely into one another. I'd say the soundtrack is the biggest change, more in line with the John Williams motifs. The actors look very similar how they did 10 years ago so least that's not too jarring. I might say Kreninc looks slightly older in Andor than the rest. Production has been lucky as people can radical change in 10 years.

There is actually a parallel with the Waffen SS. Which is like the stormtrooper corps. A separate army based on political ideology and fanatism.

Yes you had some elite SS division who did fight well. But many of them where just methed up armed thugs good only for terrorising civilian and committing atrocities.
I would strongly agree. And with the masks, there was no way to tell who were expert killers (like those who killed on Tatooine) and who were cannon fodder.

The troops on the Death Star, for example, were probably low level soldiers. After all, what kind of invasion did they seriously expect?

P.s working my way through a lot of these.... I didn't keep pace here

Yup vaders 501st were likely the very elite hense why they made short work of alderaans royal guard on the corvette.
These guys would bbe expected to be in the thick of it regularly.

A storm trooper on garrison duty would likely be 2nd tier quality. Used to just bully the locals.

According to Tony they considered having Leia in the show, this was very early on even before scripting. One idea was Mon and Leia talking about both becoming senators at a young age.

Hy headcanon was just the Empire just doesn't have the resources to make enough prisons like that everywhere for the amount of people they're trying to lock up, and Cassian got unlucky.
People were being sent to different planets after Cassian was arrested. I'm guessing they were evaluated somehow and sent to whatever kind of forced labor best fit their physique, skills, or background.

I saw it pointed out on reddit, via the prop supervisor, but the blaster pistol Bix uses, is the same one Cassian uses in Rogue One

Plus Tony Gilroy on Kathleen Kennedy

While I'm glad they discussed how that could work, I'm glad they ultimately decided against it. As much I loved kid Leia in Obi-Wan (sorry, haters), I wouldn't want her here. I agree she would've been an unnecessary distraction.

Some fun synthwave and flashbacks to TV intros of old…

That's...amazing. I love that so much.

help me out here: the squad that's sent to apprehend Kleya, since they were told twice not to kill anyone, after the ion grenade, why don't they use stun blasts like the ones we saw in ANH ( not to mention all over TCW & Bad Batch )? Or are they maybe using blasters dialed down to a lesser intensity?
