And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Ew, Ryan Seacrest. Not surprising at all, but still ew.

I knew it was a long shot but I was really hoping Vanna would take over and then retire her old gig.

Whatever. I haven't watched the show in years.

I've seen it a few times over the past year when Jeopardy has gone off. The game really needs retooled. It's too frantic and Pat Sajak is just not likeable anymore.

Yeah, not terribly impressed with the choice. Watched him for years on Kelly & Ryan and he's just so smarmy. He tries way too hard and ends up not feeling very genuine. I get the feeling from him that it's just another job.

One of many, many jobs; at this point, Seacrest is hosting three separate radio shows, American Idol, the annual Dick Clark New Year's Rockin' Eve program, and he'll supposedly be the go-to guest host on Live! when Mark Consuelos is out of town.

Some show called The Other Two, staring Molly Shannon, will end after three seasons after allegations of a toxic work environment have surfaced.

It's amazing.

Simu Liu guest starred as Molly Shannon's boyfriend, and they kept calling him Marvel's Simu Liu, and then Molly kept complaining about how bad he was at oral.

So I'm going to google and see who has been been bad. :(

Yeah, after a certain point, it just seems a bit much. I wouldn't think he could properly devote his attention to each one. He almost feels like a robot at this point. But then again, he strikes me as an overachiever.

Yeah, these are just the shows he actually appears in. He's also an executive producer for E!'s red carpet coverage of various awards shows and other events, and he's been an EP on every goddamn thing the Kardashians do.

Then again, if Wheel follows the same aggressive filming schedule that Jeopardy! does (typically shooting a whole week's worth of episodes in a single day), then it probably won't take up too much of his time. Like how Mayim Bialik was able to juggle both Jeopardy! and Call Me Kat.

I didn't think of this before until I saw a news headline mention it (I think it was AP):

Game shows use to make stars out of hosts. Now you have to be a star to become a host.

True, and then again, one reason he left Kelly & Ryan was due to all the back & forth travelling between LA and NY that he'd have to do. He'd said it became hard to juggle after a while and that it became tiresome.

National Geographic Magazine has laid off most of its staff and switching to a digital only publication. It will no longer be sold on newsstands.

Well.

Fuck.

I haven't had a subscription in years because I didn't make enough time to regularly read them but it was always my favorite magazine by far.

End of an era. :(
