And the Next Cancelled Show is...

That would need to be some sort of reboot then, because the original show actually ended with Daria graduating high school and going to college.

I know but I think canon isn't so much as a issue as it is to basically just keep the characters personalities intact and adapt them with modern touches. Basically what shows like Family Guy and The Simpsons have done. They both done episodes were the main characters were young and in college in the 90's via flashback even though both shows actually got started in the 90's. Stewie has been a baby for over 20 years now and same with the kids on "The Simpsons."

Netflix has renwed The Kominsky Method for a third season, and are also canceling it. A Netflix show pulled after three seasons. Shocking, I know.

^ Figures. I'm surprised it got to 3 seasons, actually. Personally, while I thought the cast was great, I just felt uncomfortable watching it.

If bevis and butthead were in their 40s, and they're doing a Wayne's World like cable access show from their basement... Podcast?

One of them could be married to Daria and the other could be planning their wedding to Bobby Hill. Which would tackle their use of gay as a pejorative, if one of the was super duper over compensating until well after high school.

I don't the Beavis and Butthead would ever get a show. I think would be working at something like carnies or janitors and would be in and out of the system. Might have a few kids that they barely know. I like Daria being what I think the show created said a few years ago. Living in New York working as a writer on a tv show. Jane would be their as well being a artist. Maybe working in a knick knack shop and they hang out a lot. As for Bobby Hill I think he would have moved to Austin and is working as a Stand Up Comic. Maybe not famous but locally famous.

I think Beavis and Butthead will work because it still stars the main characters. The Daria one focuses on Jodie but to me that seems pointless. I want more Daria Morgendorffer. I do want to see the other characters as well but Daria is the star and main attraction. I would be interested in seeing the show adapted to 2020 where they are still in high school but I also kind of like the idea of seeing them all grown up as well.
It's show about the Jodie character. Not a reboot of Daria, a spinoff. Just like Daria was a spinoff off Beavis and Butthead. It takes place after Jodie has graduated from Lawndale ,gone to college and is now starting her first job.

I suppose that is more accurate but I got to say I would still prefer more Daria. Most spin-offs seem to come out when the parent show is still going or just ending like Fraser leaving after "Cheers." ending. Seems weird that people have been waiting Decades for more Daria and then when something comes from it you get a spinoff and not only that but from one of the least interesting characters. Also has different voice actor and being created by someone not even involved in original show. It feels like a pure money grab on the surface.

Mike Judge (creator of Beavis and Butthead, King of the Hill, and HBO's Silicon Valley) is the creative force behind this Beavis and Butthead reboot, but he had no involvement in the Beavis and Butthead spin-off Daria (beyond releasing the character for use in that show). Also, the guy has an estimated net worth of $75 million and is responsible for some extremely successful shows, so I doubt he is involved purely for some money grab.

Edit: I see you were actually referring to the spin-off Jodie. Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish) alone was probably enough to make that one happen. I'm sure Grace Edwards was also a huge plus (Insecure, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). Both are strong black voices in the industry, and the character of Jodie (also black) should present some interesting opportunities (taking a character from the 90s and placing her in the Black Lives Matter era).

For me I don't hate the idea of a Jodie show it's just not really something that I find super interesting. Basically if I watch the show it will be from word of mouth more than me just being super excited to go back to that world since it doesn't seem to be going back to it. I did hear they were originally going to have her and Jodi together in a show and that sounded interesting but this just feels like it's aimed strickly at youngsters without anything for it's older Gen X fanbase. It doesn't really fill the desire to see more of Daria and all the characters which is what I liked most about the show.

It would work but good luck getting Meyers and Carvey to do it. I think they hate each now. Something about Carvey not getting a role in the Austin Powers movies or something.

Well, I'm sure they could make it work. A podcast is the natural evolution of public access TV and could be the next step in taking it if they do decide to revive it. If Bill & Ted can get something new, then surely they can too.

Stargirl officially departs DC Universe and becomes CW-only for season 2, which means the budget is going to take a major hit.

Can’t wait to see what they’re going to do with all the Uruk-hai, orcs and trolls in Lord of the Rings, who are all technically actors in blackface. Thank God they didn’t use dark elves!

I doubt it counts when the rest of the makeup renders them clearly non-Human. No significant criticism has been leveled at TOS because of the "evil Mongolian horde from the East" Klingons.

That show won't ever be made. Almost nothing interesting is going to be made for a few years because you just can't do it in this political climate. People want their shows preachy and on message. It's just going to be characters holding hands and embracing how awesome they are as people.

Now now, don't conflate taking the trash out with throwing all the furniture outta house. Plenty of shows in all conceivable genres were and are being made without having to resort to targeted humor that hasn't aged well, e.g. Stranger Things, Team Knight Rider, The Twilight Saga, The Walking Dead, The Good Place, Black Mirror, Baywatch, Due South, Alarm für Cobra 11, etc. etc.

We can be lucky that in all of Star Trek, only 1 episode (TNG "Code of Honor") is being considered for removal.

CBS TV Studios has fired Peter Lenkov from his show runner duties on the reboots of Magnum P.I. and MacGyver. Details on what went down can be found at TVGuide’s article.

The Hollywood Reporter article goes into even more damning and disgusting details.
