And the Next Cancelled Show is...

In some shocking news, Evil will get a second 13 episode season in 20-21. Some CBS comedies are getting a 'full season' along with All Rise.

Yeah, Evil really sticks out on CBS with the kind of shows they like to air. Maybe they're planning on watering it down and spinning off Evil: Memphis and Evil: Denver.

It's also made by the same duo that made The Good Wife and The Good Fight, which are some of the last prestige dramas CBS has left. It makes sense that they'd want to keep them happy (like FOX letting Seth MacFarlane do an expensive sci-fi show).

Yes. Plus if it's not good at CBS they can stick it in the summer or on All Access and have it for a few seasons, then close up shop after 3-5 seasons with an ending.

I've been meaning to watch All Rise but heard the ratings were bad so I wasn't going to, but maybe I will now.

I've been enjoying All Rise. It's networky and comfortable, which is sorta nice after streaming shows that leave me wondering if anyone knows how to tell a story anymore.

I'm kind of in the mood for some fluff so maybe I'll start watching if the pilot is still available somewhere. Do I need to watch them in a row or is it very stand alone?

Very stand alone.

In the pilot, Misty Knight from Luke Cage, is a new judge revelling in her new powers, on her first day, in the same court house where a week ago she was a lawyer.

Like Guy said, pretty stand alone. Characters have started to come back, but, there's enough context you won't get lost.

The cast is great. The pilot and the second episode are a little blunt in messaging, but, it settled down by the 3rd episode.

Weirdly, if feels like it could fit in The Rookie's universe... if, of course, it wasn't on another network.

The Bailiff who is almost a lawyer, gives me the eeby jeebies becuase he played (acted as) a truly awful human being on Travelers for the last 3 years.... Similar to if you ever had had the chance to punch Larry Linville in the nose, you'd have taken it, even though he was probably a perfectly nice bloke.

The first non-televised episode of Sunnyside channeled Parks & Rec more than Community. It's basically making Kal Penn's Councilwoman friend into season 5 Leslie Knope.
