And the Next Cancelled Show is...

I actually think killing off Frank Underwood will work for House of Cards (if that's what they do) for two reasons: That's what happened in the original series and Robin Wright's Claire has had such a strong presence in the show from the beginning. Placing in her in the solo lead is the most natural thing the show can do. I just hope they don't try to bring in some male lead to fill in Spacey's gap.

Agreed. That seems to make the most sense and doing so that way would feel organic. However, as for Claire, as strong as she is, the bits where she was on her own didn't quite work as well for me, but maybe that's also because she leaned on him and maybe the dynamics would be different if she were truly on her own. This is not going to be easy for her, given the crap that Frank has done, and it's going to all unravel in front of her and she's going to lose control of the Underwood empire, and I think that's still within how the original dealt with it. Season 5 seemed to be hinting that his opponent had earned a win only to have the carpet pulled from him, so my thinking is that with all of it unraveling that's about to happen, that he'll eventually get what was earned when they need the emergency replacement when that house of cards crumbles away.

I'm sure the wave of female sex predator scandals will hit Hollywood any day now.

Edit: It actually wouldn't surprise me if there were a few such examples of Hollywoid female predators, but it's not nearly in the same numbers as male predators.

Tina Fey on a "new" sitcom called Good News, where she played Alec Baldwin from 30 Rock, was pretending to be a sexual predator in the work place against her male employees, was enraged that no one would report her terrible miscondut, because she wanted a 40 million dollar pay off, to retire on, if she could just get one of the men under her to admit that they were being objectified.

Because who has the power? The males. If more females were the bosses and CEOs there would be a lot more cases of this dealing with females.

I think power is overated. It's only a easier means of getting away with bad behavior and not the cause. I think it has more to do with genetics. It Weinstein had grown up in much the same way he did but ended up being a failure in Hollywood he would most likely have been caught masturbating in front of woman in some public alley instead of some fancy office surrounded by rich and successful people. That is why any laws passed will not change anything. It will catch some predators but most will still fall through the cracks because you know they will find new ways to keep doing what they do because it's in their blood and those instincts are kind of impossible to ignore.

I think the answer is in trying to find ways to help men deal with those instincts at a earlier age in a more healthy and less destructive way. Big reason I am into mandatory thearpy and also I think income inequality and more fewer work days would help. How many of these cases have been in work settings? If your entire life is just work and you don't have a private life and I guess in Hollywood even a private life can be work related if your always trying to advance your career then it seems like sex and work are going to combine together.

Wisdom of the Crowd is ending after one season (partly as a result of sexual harassment allegations against Jeremy Piven).

Today's firing of Matt Loudmouth from the Today show was 20 years in the making. Fuck off you sack of shit!

In other news American Gods season 2 is in a bit of trouble as Bryan Fuller can't play well with others. He reportedly left after budget issues and creative issues. Season 2 episodes are budgeted at... 10 million dollars each. Not enough money?!?!

Maybe Fuller is coming back to "Disocvery?":)

Jason

I'm hoping for Hannibal season 4. :)

He was right to leave Discovery. Best thing he ever did. I understand leaving for creative issues, he has done that all the time, but he wanted a higher budget than 10 million an episode?! Is he out of his mind?! (Okay, so he probably is from the stuff he has made.)

Also MINDHUNTER has been renewed.

I agree that there needs to be more transgender roles where their presence is unimportant to the premise. Laverne Cox was in a CBS legal drama as a supporting cast member but the show was quickly canceled (I watched one episode and it was awful). The groundwork has been laid out by Cox and others, and Transparent has been a part of that with transgender women in guest roles, but there's still a long way to go.

It's irrelevant that Tambor has denied the allegations. We must trust the women who make these accusations because far too often and for far too long they've been ignored. That's a large part why there are so many accusations now. Just look at Trace Lysette: She didn't say anything initially because she feared for her career and that's because of the lack of trust women and especially transgender people receive when it comes to sexual harassment and sexual assault.

I actually think killing off Frank Underwood will work for House of Cards (if that's what they do) for two reasons: That's what happened in the original series and Robin Wright's Claire has had such a strong presence in the show from the beginning. If they were ignored or if they said anything to begin with, though for reasons of emotional influence the latter is also feasible. Hell, I was sexually harassed and assaulted by women earlier in my life, didn't say anything at the time, and even to this day have not been taken seriously and not just because the frequency of women assaulting men is lower.

And given how many people are making all sorts of claims, we must also trust justice and not thoughtless mob rule.

And if there's no evidence, then maybe everyone starting over with a clean slate and moving forward might be a better option than what's going to become modern day equivalents to mindless witch trials, are all of these people in the entertainment biz like this - really?
