And the Next Cancelled Show is...

I was really dissapointed that "Backstrom" was cancelled. That series really made me laugh and I like to laugh.

I really like that man's behavior and his comments.

Most of it because one of my co-workers looks like Backstrom and act like him too. This was an ongoing joke at the place where I work and that made it even more funny.

However, I can add another learning experience to my series-watching Rules Of Engagement.

The first lesson I learned was when Kes was dumped from Star Trek Voyager:

1. Never ever like a certain character in the series you are watching. There's a 75% chance that the character will be ruined or killed off.

And now I have learned this:

2. Never watch the first season of a series and if you accidently do, never start to like the series. There's a 95% chance that the series is cancelled after one season.

Happyish was originally to star Philip Seymour Hoffman, but the actor passed away shortly after the original pilot episode was filmed. The showrunners were forced back to the drawing board, re-casting the lead role and some of the other cast. Unfortunately the final product failed to resonate with audiences, cutting its time short after one season.

WTF? Phillip Seymour Hoffman is dead?

(Google, google.)

Okay, drugs killed him. For a second I thought this might be a wake up call about my weight. Stay off heroin and I'll be fine. Fine. Cheeseburgers good, heroin bad, I understand.

Hmmm.

There's a Happyish pilot out there with a different cast reading probably a very similar script.

You knew Haven's end was coming when they basically ordered season six under the guise of a twice-as-long season five so they wouldn't have to renegotiate salaries. There also might've been an issue with tax breaks disappearing where they film.

Hindsight (VH1)

Renewed back in March, the bozos in charge of VH1 have now reneged on plans for a second season.

YEEEEEEESSSSSS!

Did anyone get a 24 vibe from this?

They always had to do just one more thing, and as soon as they had done it, one more thing would just spring up out of nowhere. Swap gangbanger for terrorist/microchip and it's the same show.

Thank God.

I can imagine the cast sending letters to the network.

"Please fire me. Please, please end this misery."
