And the Next Cancelled Show is...

For CBS shows, the lowest rated shows so far for premiere episodes this season:

Hawaii Five-0, CSI Cyber - 1.0 demo ratings

The Good Wife, NCIS: LA - 1.2 demo ratings

If ratings remain relatively static or go down over the next few months, I would guess CSI Cyber being on the chopping block.

For the other three low rated shows, they already have off-network syndication deals. Not easy to guess whether they will be cancelled.

The Good Wife is superb beyond words. It's absolutely perfect. The only reason it scores low is because it has no monster trucks in it. (America is mostly hillbillies these days, not that there's anything wrong with that.)

The Good Wife is superb.

The ratings are always a mess because of football fouling up the Sunday night line-up on CBS. I don't bother recording it because I only usually get half an episode, at most. Often, I'll just wait a few days until CBS removes the majority of commercials and watch it On Demand.

The Good Wife attracts a higher income demo and I think that's what saves it, season to season. Whatever the reason, I'm grateful for more Good Wife. Period.

Minority Report.

It's a shitty show that fully deserved the shit ratings it's been getting.

Megan Good was already cancelled in Mr Robinson earlier this year.

Poor lady is going to get a complex.

:(

She probably needs a hug.

She should get in touch with Summer Glau. If anyone knows how to bounce back from one cancellation after another, it's that gal.

Deadline seems to think the pre-cogs are sensing doom for Minority Report:

We may see the first scheduling change this fall after Fox freshman Minority Report posted a 22% Week 2-to-Week 3 drop to hit the dreaded 0.7 rating in adults 18-49. No series has been able to recover and stay on for long after hitting that threshold. Given Minority Report‘s subpar retention, holding onto 47% of its Gotham (1.5, -6%) demo lead-in last night, Fox may think about moving the series to Friday or Saturday. The futuristic thriller gains viewership in delayed viewing — most recently 43% in Live+3 for its second episode — but that would likely not be enough when starting off such a small base.

CBS Canceling ‘Extant,’ Developing Halle Berry Legal Drama

CBS has canceled summer drama series “Extant,” which starred Halle Berry, after two seasons.

“CBS, Halle Berry and the producers have decided to conclude the ‘Extant’ story after last season’s exciting and fitting conclusion,” said Glenn Geller, president of CBS Entertainment. “’Extant’ played an important role in expanding CBS’s lineup of original scripted programming in the summer. We are proud of the show’s success on the network, as well as its popularity on Amazon Prime Video. We also want to thank the incomparable Halle Berry for her commitment and support for the series, and look forward to working with her on our next project together.”

“I am so proud of what we accomplished on ‘Extant,’” said Berry. “This season seemed such a natural place to end Molly’s journey that I, along with CBS, felt it best served the story to leave it there. I’ve loved this experience working with such a talented cast and creative team. ‎It was my first foray into episodic television, and I’m excited to continue my relationship with CBS, producing more compelling stories through my 606 Films production banner.”

"First foray into episodic television."

Hm. Guess she forgot all about those 12 episodes of Living Dolls she did back in '89.... or the 6 she did on Knots Landing.

Thank god.

It's nice that they make programming for 40 year old female virgins, but if it's a choice between watching this shit or seducing the mail man, I'm surprised that anyone gets their electric bill before the final payment is past due.

‘Dominion’ Canceled After 2 Seasons By Syfy

Syfy has decided not to order a third season of supernatural action drama Dominion, which just wrapped its Season 2 run. Created by Vaun Wilmott based on characters from the 2010 feature Legion, Dominion, which starred Christopher Eagan, was set 25 years in the future after a war between an army of angels and mankind has transformed the world. There is no decision yet on Defiance, which is awaiting word on Season 4.

“Led by Vaun Wilmott, the talented cast, producers, writers and crew of Dominion have done a tremendous job bringing this ambitious, cinematic series to the screen over the past two seasons,” Syfy said in a statement. “We thank them, as well as our producing partners Universal Cable Productions, Bold Films and Film Afrika.”

Dominion saw its ratings drop in Season 2, averaging a 0.3 in 18-49 (Live+ same day), down -47% from Season 1, and 0.9 million viewers, down -45%.

Bold Films, which produced the movie for Screen Gems, co-produced the series with Universal Cable Prods. It was shot in South Africa.

Coming up for Syfy later this year are new series The Expanse, starring Thomas Jane, and limited series Children’s End, an adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s classic novel.

On tap for next year are new series The Magicians, Hunters as well as returning 12 Monkeys, which was renewed for a second season, and Canadian imports Killjoys and Dark Matter.
