And the Next Cancelled Show is...

The new Dallas simply tried to do too much in too short a time, overdoing it as a result, which often dragged it down to the credibility levels of daily soaps and telenovelas.

Care to offer any specific examples?

A franchise with that much power deserved better than that.

Agreed, but I don't think the revival failed the way you seem to.

^Madam Secretary, Scorpion, Stalker, and The Mysteries of Laura have all been given full-season orders in the last 24 hours, so I would call them all safe now. And Mulaney hasn't been cancelled yet.

My opinions are based off current ratings and the likelyhood of further erosion despite full pickups, am pretty confident I'd get most right come May 2015.

Corrected, the error.

I usually distinguish between "not renewed" and "cancelled," this early in the season.

If you are not renewed than you are canceled. There is canceled and not picked up for a back nine. But by May I think most of what Jax said will be right.

I agree that most of what Jax said will be right, seven months from now. I just like to distinguish between "cancelled tomorrow" and "cancelled seven months from now." And I disagree that "not renewed" = "cancelled" - TNG, DS9, and Voyager were not cancelled, they were ended. I just feel that there should be more nuance.

Forever looks to be done for as well. Which is too bad, I enjoy it.

I enjoy it as well, it's a new spin on the old detective show.

It seems to be they were hoping "Forever" would catch the Castle size audience but I don't know why you would move it away from its debut slot on Monday was it? Castle is already into year 7 with a pretty fixed audience so move that show and let Forever be the new post DWTS show.

It really drives me mental sometimes seeing how networks go about putting little effort into thinking what slot a show would fit best in. Just look at what happened to POI Demo audience erosion after moving it to 10pm & now away from Thursdays.

I think you answered your own question.

Castle needs to be put out of its misery.

I noticed the stern teacher from a week back or so was on Drive with Nathan.

Probably just a coincidence. :)

Castle episode this week was a much better one than the par for this season and despite loving the show I do think its time to end it though a shorter season 8 would be tolerable. I don't want it to do a Bones (Season 10 & counting).

Elementary came back to just a 1.3 demo rating (around 8 million) last night and thats another show I love but you see the lead in and its no surprise + Oct launch for it  It still might get a 4th season on fridays or sundays because 4 seasons = decent rerun package and CBS owns the show fully I believe rather than just air it.

I wouldn't read anything into the October launch - all of CBS's Thursday night shows were delayed until October because of Thursday Night Football (except for The Big Bang Theory, because of its massive ratings). And Elementary is almost guaranteed a fourth season because of syndication, but I don't really see why they'd move it - even TV by the Numbers, which has a rather pessimistic view when it comes to show renewals, has it listed as "certain to be renewed" for exactly that reason.

Bummer. I like A to Z; well, I like Andrew and Zelda. The best friends are bearable. Almost everyone else - *shudder*
