And the Next Cancelled Show is...

My wife and I are both bummed about this, we loved the first season. It was a fantastic take on the material, I love both the original movie and the book. I'm a huge Nick Hornby fan, About a Boy is my absolute favorite.
I keep forgetting About a Boy is also based on a book of his. I only watched it the one time years ago but I remember really enjoying it. I've been meaning to watch it again, especially after finding out Nicholas Hoult played the kid!

I haven't read any of Hornsby's books, but if they're anything like those two films, then I'm sure I'll enjoy them.

Did you watch the short-lived About a Boy TV series with Minnie Driver? There was another version before that with Patrick Dempsey but the pilot was never picked up.

In revival news, remember all that talk about a Law & Order limited series comeback that never seemed to get off the ground? Looks like CSI is beating them to the punch, with William Petersen and Jorja Fox in talks to return.

mothership or CI?

There was talk about bringing the mothership back for a short-season and trying to get actors like Chris Noth and Sam Waterston to return.

Would've been really cool if they also brought back Richard Brooks. He did a few guest spots after he left and it always left me wanting to see more of Paul Robinette.

Speaking of reboots, it seems like Saved by the Bell is being brought back to be streamed on Peacock. Don't know why though, because this looks beyond embarrassing. Bring two stars back from the original alongside a bunch of kids who are obviously trying to ape the original set of kids. I liked the original and even the followups and TV movies, but some things just need to stay down. The tone in this just feels wrong.

Saved by the Bell without Screech is like Family Matters without Urkel. A complete waste of time.

It will end up being as paint by numbers as all the similar shows on and trying to use the Saved By The Bell nostalgia to bring in those old viewers.

Dustin stabbed a guy in a bar fight a few years back.

He's worked since then, but insuring him on set would be costly.

I knew things had gone bad with him but wasn't sure about the details. I think he also did porn at once and also tried stand up comedy as well. I understand why they might not want to bring him back but it's kind of hard to ignore maybe the shows most famous and popular character. Speaking of shows of this ilk I wonder if Beverly Hills 9020 is going to get a second season. The one were the actors play themselves making a reboot. I kind of liked it.

Well they had a season and the pay respects and mentioned the passing of Luke Perry in the show. I had no idea though they were already cancelled for a season 2. Their was talks in the final episode of the reboot within the show being moved to Canada for filming and I assumed that was meta talk going on and maybe that was their hope but it seems now they were just flat out canned.
