And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Looks like the lizzard people are at it again. Didn't like being called out and used their influence in the government to get the show cancelled. Also it gets canned in the same year as the X-FIles which also has been about alien visitation. Were through the looking glass, here people!

And both featured Brian Huskey as a paranoid man!

I know a bunch of conservatives who aren't personally bigots, but I dunno, can you really not be bigoted but still vote for politicians who are extremely bigoted? Isn't that 'see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil'? The Republican party can't both not be the racism party and also be the party that covets the racism vote. It has to pick one.

I'd love to see a West Wing style show focusing on the Republican party taking that on, that issue of their identity. The people who believe in Americanism, property rights, gun rights, strong military and fiscal responsibility fighting for their party's identity against the Trumpists.

Ghosted is kind of a shame. Assemble a great cast, funny concept, and write it terribly.

I'd be interested in watching that.

How about a show about democrats are just hs fucked up and corrupt as republicans, setting up a primary, committing voting fraud all over the country, being corrupt and evil. When caught with their voter fraud, no one goes to jail, the media ignores it because it's in the democrats pocket and then makes up that another country 'stole' our election?

Several years ago there was a little comedy series on HBO called "The Brink" with Jack Black, Tim Robbins and a number of other quite excellent actors. It was very well written and thoroughly hilarious. It was quickly renewed for a second season and just as quickly CANCELLED (I think this show started what now appears to be a common trend). Having a rare grasp of the conspirator's mind, I got the impression that it painted the military (particularly naval aviators) and civilian government employees as drug-addled sex-craved freak shows, barely holding the world together with guile and luck. In other words, the truth! Methinks this show touched a nerve with the wrong (or right) people who subsequently leaned on HBO to kill it. HBO Rarely shies away from controversial material (with the one exception of the Preacher). It must have been some serious heat to get them to change their minds. Hell, the single first season still hasn't been made available on DVD or BRD yet. Really feels like someone wants that show erased from memory.

I'm apparently a month behind the news because I just read that Rick and Morty is getting an additional 70 episodes. The co-creators said the deal was good enough that they don't need to worry about side gigs. We probably still won't get any new episodes until late 2019, though.

Have you seen Wyatt on "Problem Areas"?

It's awfully political.

It makes sense to me. I mean we liberals voted and supported Clinton even when we knew he was a sexual creep because the economy was good. When it comes to politicians I think people already know most of them are going to be awful people. The idea of a honest decent politician almost feels like a joke or a lie you tell kids. If someone feels the guy they vote for is going to make things better for them I think people tend to look the other way a great deal of the time. Of course Trump is different because he was maybe the first one in awhile they the really hardcore racists felt might make their dreams come true about really doing something about the different types of people they hate which is different from the older ones who just want to worship money. Only I don't think the latter really have any control anymore. Foxnews and the internet has corrupted to many people by appealing to their darker nature. I think the internet and the constant strife has made everyone a little more mean but especially with modern Republicans. We Democrats don't always look so great either in this new world but many on the right at least here in America have really sunken to new lows that I never thought I would see in America.

Only if TBS is run by cops, Wyatt's main focus of criticism on the show.

Besides, he left People of Earth halfway through season two, although I don't know if there plans to bring him back for season three.

Sooooo much stuff about cops.

Anti-"law and order" reads poorly in the polls.

Which is why someone with a little power who supports the law and order and the troops (blindly) would come down on any one disrespecting first responders... If they also happen to be racist.

I give this conspiracy 20 percent vehemence.

I read this somewhere once but can't remember where and I'm rephrasing it so forgive me if I blow it. A novel generally deals with a person or people who are facing the pivotal moment of their lives. Obviously you can't do that with an ongoing TV series, so you have the ongoing characters dealing with other people at the pivotal moments of their lives. That is why you have so many cop, doctor, and lawyer shows.

Wow, I had no idea. I do remember when the show was called @Discovery.ca before it transitioned to being called Daily Planet, and there was a time they weren't even allowed to use the Discovery brand and were just calling themselves EXN (Exploration Network). I'm not entirely surprised though. I felt that over the years, the science content had gone down in favour of trending stories that were less interesting. And when Jay Ingram left the show, I started watching less and less of it.

Still, there's something to be said about having had a science program having lasted so long. I more or less considered it a spiritual successor to PBS's Adam's Apple.

Truthfully, I hadn't watched it much in recent years, mostly because I spent 7 years out of the country, but I started watching it again when I was on parental leave last year and found I really liked the team of Dan Riskin and Ziya Tong. I had a harder time warming up to their tech guy though. His delivery when introducing segments could be awkward at times, like he was trying to hard to be cheerful or something and his smile at the end of his delivery ended up being a bit creepy.

Comedy Central has pulled the plug on The Opposition (Jordan Klepper's replacement for The Nightly Show). The claimed it wasn't due to rating, but due to how politics with Trump, Bannon and Alex Jones have played out. Klepper is getting a new show, called Klepper, in 2019 with many of the same production staff but will go back to field reports as he did on The Daily Show.

I was just about to come and say that. I find it interesting as they don't even have the first three seasons yet.
