An Idea For A Game/Project

I like it very much, Jon! Yours are some very nice versions of our heroes. :bolian:

I have a question about the story though: In Starscape's last frame I thought the forcefield (or whatever it is ) was emitted by Kirk (and not the woman). Wasn't she trying to shoot Kirk with her weapon? I understood that Kirk used a forcefield of some kind (maybe with his servo) to keep the woman from killing him. Did I get that totally wrong? Also, in Venardhi's panel I got the impression The Origin was someone or something else than Kirk.

Please enlighten me. :D

But, as I said, I really like it and am looking forward to the continuation. :)

Hey, this whole idea is really neat, and the art so far has been... wow. Really darn cool, guys. :techman: So count me in, if that's alright. I've been playing around with drawing the characters recently, and even though I've never done comic-type art and can't guarantee anything terrific, it's all for fun, right? I'd love to join in. =)
Good to see you found your way to this project. I'm eagerly awaiting your entry, Ampris.

Ah. Yes. Erm.

I've changed the dialogue a bit. :D

 I didn't mean to say that you shoud change anything. I just thought I was misinterpreting things. Hope you didn't take it the wrong way.

Having said that, I certainly like the new version better. :bolian:

Actually, that was the orginal version. Pretty much anyway.

I changed my mind.

Oh, and to those of you wondering. I'm not suggesting we use the Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets characters. In fact, I suggest against it.

I merely nicked the ship design :D

My intention was that the energy field was the creature inhabiting Kirk emerging to attack (with help of the energy source on the planet), though I guess it's open to interpretation. :)

Nice work jon1701, I suppose a homage to another show was going to find it's way into the comic at some point, but I didn't expect it to be so G-forced. ;)

^ Quite.

It literally came to me in a dream. I was going to come up with something myself - but it just "popped in there".

I'm kind of confused as to why she would be there to send the possessing being back to 'the origin' if it is already in 'the origin'. I meant to leave it vague, but still as something (or someone if we go that way) out there somewhere that would be definitely not one of the persons in that room.

I don't mean to stifle the creativity here, but it is one of those twists that kind of makes my brain kink out a bit, like if Darth Vader turned out to be the real Obi-wan or something.

Yeah, I may have got confused. I have modified the dialogue now to reflect this.

Press f5 on the comic page to see what I mean.

It's back to vague. :D

Re: The Trek Art Comic Project

Dude, am I seeing things or did you actually use the Phoenix from Gatchaman in your strip?

Hey all with my turn fast approaching I did this study of the dreaded Kirk/Shatner likeness. Am I close?

There was a Dr. Who reference?

There was some initial confusion as to the device "Kirk" was holding in the first couple of strips. Some suspected it was the Doctor's sonic screwdriver. As a result a line or two was included about temporal distortions. However, NCC-1701 based the device upon the fountain pen like "servo" used by Gary Seven from "Assignment: Earth". Fortunately, since Gary Seven supposedly beamed not only across the galaxy, but also through time, the lines about temporal distortions was still within context.

Me, shoot, I'd have had a ball tossing in some "cross-over" with the famed BBC series (as I'm a fan of both), but just in the off chance some might not be too thrilled, I resisted the temptation.

Sincerely,

Bill

Ah, thanks! I thought of the sonic screwdriver at first but quickly figured out it was Gary Seven's servo.

I've been waiting for someone to throw in a wild off-the-wall curve like the Phoenix.

Ihlecreations your sketches are great :techman: Kirk's nose may be a bit too curved/hooked in the first sample but he's readily recognizable.

Those samples are awesome, Ihlecreations! I'm looking forward to your turn. :bolian:

By the way, has anyone seen Klondike307 around the boards? He's next on the list.
