Amt/Ertl Klingon Bird of Prey

This is Amt's Bird of Prey with a lot of extra added details like styrene, and some kit bash parts on the bridge and dorsal connect. I also replaced the guns with brass rods. Lit with LED's and fiber optics.

Out of curiousity, what's the quality of Amt/Ertl models like? Are they better then Starcraft or Warp Models??

Wow! Very nice. I'm doing a similar treatment to one of these kits. I noticed several places where you've made the same modifications I did. (most notably, those two holes on the forward top area of the bigger rear hull; seems most people miss those for some reason)

Also I'm not even gonna try lighting it. I've owned the kit for probably ten years thinking, "yeah, I'm gonna light it" but I'll never actually do it if I wait for that. So my goal is to build an unlit model as close to the studio one as possible.

What I really like about yours is the paint job! Extraordinary! Are you going to put any more markings on it? I understand the kit's decals are pretty thick, but I bet you could freehand that stuff no problem!
