Amazons description of Full Circle (possible spoilers)

I'm hoping that if Full Circle is as good as it sound like it might be that Kristen wll still be writing VoyR novels.

Kirsten already is writing the follow-up novel to Full Circle, due towards the end of next year.

Kirsten is writing the next two VGR-R novels, but there's no reason to expect there won't be other authors contributing in the future. After all, since Kirsten is the second author to write for it, by definition it's no longer a single-author series.

I had sworn off of Voyager books because they have all disappointed me so much. Homecoming and the String Theory trilogy especially turned me off.
This sounds kind of interesting though, so I'm planning on giving it a shot. I like the idea of Paris as 1st Officer. The Doctor is still on Voyager right?

Not to discourage you by any means, but you do realize that Kirsten wrote the second book in the String Theory trilogy and also developed the outline for the trilogy with Heather Jarman, right?

Now, I personally loved that trilogy, and can't wait for more from Kirsten, whose comments both here and in Voyages of Imagination have convinced me that she truly understands the Voyager characters.

^ Yeah I did know that. Even my favorite writers don't always hit a home run. Book two of String Theory is the only thing I've read by her, I figure anybody deserves a 2nd chance, and the teasers sound interesting.

It wasn't that I disliked the writing, I just didn't care for the premise of the String Theory books, just didn't work for me.

No, the Doctor and Seven joined a think tank which... come to think of it, I have no idea what they do. Did I forget, or is that just another one of the gaping unexplained holes in the VOY-R?

I'm sorry to hear that String Theory didn't work for you, but I really appreciate the fact that you're still willing to give Full Circle a try. I hope you enjoy this one more, but of course, if you don't, no harm, no foul.

What they actually do at the think tank wasn't exactly developed in depth, but I'm not sure I'd call that a gaping hole. A bigger hole might be...why did Seven go from working at the think tank to joining the faculty at Starfleet Academy..as we saw in Before Dishonor.

A little reminder...Tom Paris was promoted to first officer at the end of Spirit Walk so Christie gets the credit for that. The chief medical officer for Voyager she established was a joined Trill, Doctor Jarem Kaz. Both Kaz, and the EMH are, of course, part of Full Circle.

Best,
Kirsten

As long as the answer isn't 'because she got back together with Chakotay', I can't wait to find out. :p

Reading the last of the Destiny trilogy has only made me more impatient for Full Circle - I want to know what's happening with Voyager's crew while the - uh - spoilery stuff happens in Destiny! As well as all that goes before.

Mad -x-

Glad the spoilery stuff has piqued your interest. That was part of the point.

And if the first part of 2009 goes as quickly as 2008 has, it won't feel like that long of a wait. How the hell is it December already?

Does one need to read the Spirit Walk books to understand Full Circle?

This isn't a Re Relaunch of VGR is it?

And anyone want to bet that VGR will be like Vanguard in terms of writers?

This is a continuation of the post-finale VOY series (aka "VOY Relaunch")

If you mean the novels will alternate between two authors, that would be a silly bet considering that Beyer is writing the follow-up to her own Full Circle. (No word yet if the title of the second book will come from a Rush song.)

Voyager's crew must rise to face their future...and begin a perilous journey in which the wheel of fate comes full circle

Maybe they endup back in the Delta Quadrant again.

The String Theory trilogy opinion seems to be 50/50. Half love it, half hate it. Kirsten's book was hands down the best of the 3, but as a whole, I would be on the negative review side. Best moment though was in Book 1 where it was described how a crewmen melted in front of Tom and the Dr. That chapter or two stood out in Book 1.

I liked the Dark Matters trilogy myself.

With all this being said though, the upcoming VOY books will be fine. Kirsten Beyer is awesome and considering Spirit Walk 1 and 2 were painful, there is nowhere to go but up. ;)

Does Voyager now have one of the newer versions of the EMH then?

The Mark IX EMH if I remember correctly.

I didn't really mind them that much, although Chakotay having "super powers" at the end of book 2 seemed weird.

So what is the Doctor doing these days? Have we heard anything?

I haven't read the VGR-R myself, but other have said that as of his last appearance he was working at a Think Tank. He also appeared at the B-4 trial in Articles of the Fed. although I can't remember if they said what he was doing other than that.

Chakotay isnt too invovled in the first 2 Voyager relaunch....hes in them, just not as much as others...the 2 SPirit Walk ones he is but i cannot say why because that would spoil the books!
