Amazing Race anyone?

So the threads have been getting smaller, but is anyone still watching the new season of the Amazing Race?

They added yet another game rule - the ability to skip any task on the race. I'm surprised they didn't come up with this sooner... I just wonder what happens if it was stacked with a yield, but I figure that won't come up.

Decent ep, I can't believe how badly that one team screwed up. Going from first (to the airport anyways) to last place. Wow.

The "express lane" (or whatever it's called) pass is an interesting idea, but I have a feeling we're not going to see it until near the end. It's one of those things that you want to keep around as long as you can because you don't know when you'll really need it.

I actually enjoyed this episode more then the last two seasons (and I am a diehard of the show).

As to the express Pass the team that won it mentions that it can only be used up to the end of leg 8. So it wont be used int eh last quarter of the season.

Not anytime this year as the producers don't have enough money to replace about 30 to 40 regular video cameras with HD ones.

So not the next former racer season. Perhaps next fall if it gets another year pickup as this show just begs to be shown in Hi-def.

Based on dialogue if a team was U-Turned (they haven't used a yield since All stars) if they had the express pass they could have skipped it by skipping that whole Detour (they mention they can use it before or during a task).

So yeah they way to negate the stupid U-Turn (which I hate).

Decent episode tonight even though I can't say much about the teams as of yet. Felt bad for that one team who came in last, and that other team (Nick and Vicki) are dumb. As for the whole Watermelon thing, I only saw it once before (I think it was on The Insider last week or something) and it was a bit surprising, especially the timing after the "right in the kisser" comment. Glad she was alright and laughed it off, even though I imagine it did give her a bit of a headache.

Edit: There's Asia and China... jeez, Alan Wu is a busy man. Funny enough, China features the first official Canadian player as well.

The Yield was the one where you had to wait next to the clue box for X period of time before continuing.

And yeah though no announcement has been made I heard nearly two months ago that casting was going on for former racing teams from seasons 12-17.

I have no direct knowledge of this, but the person who told me as been batting about 100% on info for the last 7 cycles. SO I trust it. But thats just my word, time will tell.

By the way, the last "drive yourself" task no one paid a taxi to lead them anywhere. Any idea if the show has finally cracked down on that to enhance the entertainment quotient? (The teams having to self-navigate is always more interesting to watch.)
