Am I the only person that likes 'lens-flare'?

I don't have any issue with lens flares. It's a stylistic choice and it works for this film.

I didn't say I liked them, but they didn't bother me. In fact, I hardly noticed them.

I had no problem with how it was used in this movie. Where I noticed it, and if the complaints of other posters are correct, apparently I didn't notice it every time it was used, I thought it was very effective. If it was overused, I didn't notice it, so I guess that means it wasn't overused for me.

Gave that feeling that you were in space. I found it similar to early space program film footage.

Not sure it showed up so much on the big screen. Maybe in the online clips, but I didn't notice it once in the theatre.

The only time I REALLY noticed it was in the beginning with the Kelvin, but that may have been less lens-flare and more giant star in the background. I'm not positive.

My only notice was when Spock was questioning Kirk and Scotty, but that was probably because I had scene the clip online, and that was on particular clip that people here tore apart over the flares.

I'd say they were a bit overdone, but hope they continue on a smaller scale next movie... if there is one and Abrams is directing, that is.

I liked the reason about the future being bright and magical with possiblities we can't even see (i.e too bright to see). But i'm getting a bit of an old fogy now so at first i thought it was too new (but i also thought IMAX was too loud and worried about getting ear damage so i'm really out of the trend ) but next time i see the film (with ear plugs or dvd) i bet i will just absorb it as part of the style as someone has already said. But i loved the whole look of the film, i thought it really worked as an entity.

As an amateur photographer consciously aware of what conditions are necessary for lens flare to actually occur, I found it annoying and childish.

I liked them. The only place I really noticed was where one was used to wipe between two shots during the scene in the bar between Kirk and Uhura. And I just thought it was cool, there.

I loved the shaky cam, and really didn't notice the lens flare until people started discussing it. I have to go watch it a second time and see if I notice it this time.
