Am I the Only One Who Desperately Craves a Captain Shaw Series?

The people that wrote this show are so stupid and racist that they literally made the black woman call Picard "JL" because Leon calls Larry David "LD." That's literally the reason.

It should be satire, but it's real, and rubes like you lap it up.
You might want to tone it down. They will suspend your account. Be a bit more thoughtful and empathetic here.

I think I get that you are role playing Bob Saget the filthy underground comic, not the kid friendly guy from Full House, but damn. lol

This may be a moot point now.

Unfortunately, Liam Shaw shares the same status as Bob Saget (not the poster). On the bright side, in the fictional Trekverse, anyone can conceivably make a comeback, even from beyond. I guess there is still a glimmer of hope for Shaw's return.

But it seemed to me that, in PIC, the Shaw character served largely as a foil (not the aluminum kind), to Picard and Riker. Shaw was good in a supporting role.

Shaw's undiplomatic persona has good entertainment value, but I don't know if a Star Trek spaceship series would succeed with Captain Shaw as the lead character.

I do think that Shaw would be a good fit for an ensemble Starfleet Academy series, though. Send all the misbehaving cadets to Superintendent of Discipline Shaw's office. That might be fun to watch.

Those of you in the Twitterverse should totally follow Captain Liam Shaw, Narrated. Absolutely :censored:ing hilarious. :guffaw:

(the handle is @NarratedShaw)

If they absolutely, positively HAVE to bring him back, make him Enterprise's Chief of Engineering (make him a Captain of Engineering -- the same rank Scotty held in TOS movies).

If Legacy happens, and that's a major if, Matalas said in interviews that Shaw will indeed be on the cast.

Personally, I'm hoping it's some years later. Commodore Shaw oversees the Refit of Enterprise-G, and then stays on board as the Chief Engineer.

He did seem more passionate about engineering than command.

Matalas talked about them bringing back Shaw in a clever way, but everything I can think of feels contrived.

Seven pumped nanoprobes into him which brought him back to life.
He's his own twin brother
Clone
Transporter duplicate
Time travel
Emergency Engineering Hologram
Mirror Universe Shaw (who wouldn't be a grumpy dipshit so what's the point?)
The Shaxs option (actually my favourite, he's just there and it's never explained why)

Last option, just show up, have him saying something about seeing a Koala, and him being "captain of Engineering" or something.

It was mostly DS9 that went with MU characters being wildly different from their counterparts. MU Spock wasn't all that different. Just going from the novels and Cornwell's reaction, Prime Lorca wasn't incredibly different from the one we saw, either. As with all things Georgio, with her it's complicated

Spock was the only TOS character that wasn't very different and I think Mirror Lorca was just really good at hiding his true nature.

Kind of like Kenny on South Park.
Or Sgt. Johnson from Halo:
"Sergeant, how did you survive the Halo explosion."
"Well, son, that's classified."

I mean, sort of? Admiral Cornwell thought something was odd, but they were in a time of war so that allowed him to be a bit more aggressive without too much difference.

Interesting character.
Glad he's out of the way, though. I don't like it when rando new characters disrespect legacy characters.
